Must admit the wisdom of having Carney around, being allowed to guide the team around, with Lui and Brining out, seems to me a good long term move. O'Brien to replacement hooker.
The alternative would have been Wood and O'Brien
We'll now see how good he really is over the next few matches having the authority from Watto and the team to lead.

I don't think I've ever been as nervous as this before a Salford match, I'm absolutely sh**ing myself!! I don't really like coming across as pessimistic, but I just can't see us winning on current form  . I'm just going to go, have a good day out and hope for the best, and if we are to get beat - so be it. I just hope it's pretty swift to put me out of my misery - not a complete battering, but a reasonable/respectable score. If we get beat like we did at Saints the other week, I think I'd have a heart attack or nervous breakdown! Kind of excited at the same time though - Festwich on the Saturday as well  |

It all depends on the pack we can put put and how the partnership of Dobson and Carney works with it. The thing that excites me is that Carney has been given his head to lead. There's a chance if he gets anywhere near, he's been there and done it at Oz level and he's just been waiting for his chance.
Remember Alex Murphy at Leigh or Salford v Wigan all stars and their 40 match unbeaten cup run until that day. Keep the faith.

Happy that Walne is not included I would rather he played we would be that bit stronger down the middle, also it hasn't been officially confirmed he's leaving. I've never been one to cut my nose off to spite my face. |

Yes, it is now a confirmed departure as per totalrugby.com
I'm sad that he has chosen the Fart Owners, but he is not one of ours now.
