It's a great shame that this is all happening at the back end of the season, if it wasn't I'd have tried to get as many season ticket holders as possible to turn up at the game but not go in, really screwing the figures.
Can you imagine the impact if the majority of the crowd noise came from outside the stadium.

Dixon 13 I'm feeling like you. Should be looking forward to the matches tonight and the big one on Thursday, but not bothered if I go or not.
All the negative talk has made me feel that I can't be bothered. Sad when there's so many positives to talk about. Even when we're doing well the chairman finds a way of destroying everything. Saw Beaumont last night, what a positive guy he is all the time even when things aren't going well.

The best thing we can do as Salford fans is try and forget about the off-the-field drama for 80 minutes and get behind the lads, who are playing tremendously this year and deserve our full support.

It's a pity we can't play all our games away.I like a lot of others have a season ticket but I am getting to the stage I dred going. I have been watching Salford RLFC for many years, with many highs and many lows and I have never and I never will dread going to a game,in fact my children and grandchildren who all attend have never been happier with the teams performance. I see a direct correlation between the current social media rants against the current owner and the ones against the previous owner and some of the comments from some people have created once again a lot of the negativity against the club and some staff members at a time when we should be as supporters be sitting back and enjoying the team that we currently have. Whatever anybody thinks about the owner, without him there would be no club and perhaps this would make some people happy. Marwan has been given some really duff information since he took the club over and the money that had been wasted must be a huge amount and in my opinion it appears that he has a better team in place, although even now there could be improvements made in some areas. I do not post on twitter or Facebook but I do read some of the posts and I am appalled and embarrassed at some of the comments that I have seen and I am also appalled and embarrassed at some of the incidents that I have seen at the stadium with some people who have a very high opinion of themselves coming out with in some cases vile comments towards the owner and any person who doesn't agree with the people making the comments in the first place. Where I sit at the stadium I don't recognise the negativity that others do and I find it hard to understand why this comes about, yes there had been a survey done and people who completed it , like myself and presumably yourself are awaiting what comes out but I am not getting myself wound up over the waiting.

I agree with all you say, it's just that at the moment all we hear from the hierarchy of the club is negativity about crowd numbers. The gates on average this year are up about a thousand, why can't we celebrate that instead of this constant drone of 'the people of Salford are letting me down'.
Every year at this time of the season it's another issue that detracts from the rugby. A chairmans job is to absorb that and be positive. I totally appreciate all he's done but why aren't we allowed to celebrate what's happening without the negativity?

Some good points in the post by OSRD. I would have to say though that the owners behaviour on social media is a major concern. An example of this is when he recently told a club sponsor with 7 season tickets that he should stop attending games, all for the crime of questioning the published crowd figures. Are we in a position to be able to lose supporters who are also willing to sponsor the club? I would suggest not.
I would hope however that as a fan base we can rise above it all tonight and give the players and coaching staff the support that they deserve.

I'm looking forward to tonight's game, should be a belter 2 great teams we have the chance to almost cement top 4.
My concern for the direction of the club isn't spoiling my enjoyment of the great rugby. Lads deserve our support and they'll get it.

If the average is up by 1,000, then it's a yearly increase they should be looking at. Keep winning take it into next season and on. The crowds will only slowly come back

Beer. Beer is the answer, drink enough and you'll forget that you and the wee Scotsman are the only people stood in the south stand

The example you give is worrying in that a sponsor such as the one you describe is exactly the type of person the club needs and most of us are perplexed by the published crowd figures,I am as I cannot possibly see how our ground can hold 12000 off the published figures. As a matter of interest has the sponsor carried on watching?because I would.
