Below is a post in response to this from the CEO: www.salfordreddevils.net/ian-blease-issues-rally-cry-city/This is a worrying statement from the CEO. It is in my eyes a final rallying cry before they (privately at least) give the go ahead to the Manchester rebrand if we register two poor attendance figures. I know it shouldn't be our job/the marketing is atrocious/the owner is a clown but I really feel we need to try and do something about it. It's time to spread the word that we are under threat, get people down there and enjoy what we are all a part of. We have 2 TV games now within a week. The narrative from the sky commentary team to the outside world is going to be focussed on the attendance figure or lack of it. If every person brought one friend along it would double the home crowd. Tell them what is at stake. Pay for them to get in. Bribe them with a couple of beers. Do whatever it takes to get people down there before it's too late. Let's show the outside world what Salford is all about and that there is life in the Salford fanbase yet. Let's show them the Strength Of Salford, with hopefully a good performance both on the pitch and on the terraces. Every poor crowd is strengthens the Koukash argument for a rebrand to the non Salford RL fans. Let's at least be able to say we have done our bit in this regard, even against the backdrop of the actions of the current owner. Show our support for the team even if many no longer support the ownership. All ideas to improve the crowd and matchday experience are welcome below.

MK has said tonight on twitter that only 57 matchday tickets have been sold thus far on Friday. I really hope that increases substantially. I've queried whether this also includes hospitality and VIP. I've bought 4 in VIP for Friday. I've seen the rumour on here that hospitality and VIP aren't counted towards the official attendance figure - hospitality and VIP seemed really packed against Catalans. Indeed I was shocked at the crowd being under 5k as looked to be another 1000.
It is a paradoxical situation to my football club Blackburn Rovers. In the official attendance figure all season tickets are counted even if person does not attend. Plus a few phantom season tickets! A few times last season the real crowd (police figures) was sub 8,000 but official announced attendance was always over 10,000. The club try and create the facade that attendances are holding up.
I almost query if there is the opposite facade at Salford RLFC? Most other clubs in Rugby League, football and cricket base their official attendance on advance sales and not people through turnstiles. I was at Wigan away a few weeks ago - official attendance was 12,000 - never in a million years were there 12k in that ground.

I'll be honest Blease is now starting to get on my doodats, on what level is it our responsibility to do the club's job by promoting it?
If the Club can't invest in promotion I am certainly not going to do it for them.
If the Doc was more open about things and less childish I might be more inclined to do something, but he isn't much to the detriment of Salford.

40 + yrs of absolute cack and now a season of great rugby but not trophies as yet,and they expect people to come flooding through the gates😳 Marketing is dire and fans have to put up leaflets for the club, look at that Mr Blease. Even in the glory days Salford achieved only around 7K and now after so many years of false dawns he expects parity. I am sick and tired of hearing this about attendances change the record please

It's not one side or the others to shoulder full responsibility on this. I think the club could do vastly more than it does, but equally, I think if the fans are passionate then it shouldn't be overly difficult to be motivated to help. I think too many people are reading this as a 'them' and 'us' rather than a collective effort.

Disagree there carnster, it absolutely is the job of the club. Of course fans do try to get more people to go the game, that's just natural we all do it already. I'm sure everyone on here could name numerous people they have brought to games who previously had little or no interest. We do our bit. That has limited reach and potential though, I don't know what more the fans can do.

Of course the largest responsibility is on the club, but if fans are passionate they can help and have been doing. It's a shame it's taken threats of a name change to galvanize people though. In an ideal world we should have been as passionate before the rumours.

It hasn't taken the current proposed crazy idea to galvanize people the majority of us have been bringing people to games for as long as many fans were old enough to bring friends as kids. All that is changed is that our owner and CEO are now busy decrying fans for not doing enough. I've brought people who are now season ticket holders, family members, work mates, dragged along various partners, invited people from the pub and even brought people from overseas to watch but have never felt the need to advertise the fact. Well I say FU Koucash, FU Blease I've done enough (more than enough including the offer of help with promotion this year only for the club to promise much but delivery the square root of bugger all AGAIN) sick to death now of your treatment of loyal fans and the childish moronic behaviour of an owner who seems hell bent of supporter base alienation.

I think most were doing this anyway, it has got people out on the streets putting posters up and it's got people's passion flowing more.
Putting posters up again is pretty pointless unless you can first get people hooked. Needs to be joined up thinking, there's no one single way to get more people through the doors. Unfotunately it seems our owner doesn't have the patience to see it through.

How on earth does this do anything to bring in fans. The clubs Twitter feed has just spewed forth this, I know let's promote that we don't have many bums on seats that will bring them in in droves.
Forget #unmissable, #unprofessional would be much more apt.

It is very draining supporting this club at times, but we carry on!

To be honest, I'm fed-up with it all.
The Owner, The Club never seeing anything through, Whinging fans, fans arguing with each other, the Salford public that can't be arsed, rumour after rumour. I just wish he'd just get on with it, deal with the fallout and let us all go our relevant ways whichever direction that is.

I have brought someone with me nearly every game this season, and they all loved it and come back most weeks.
Although the behavior of the c0ck who owns us makes me think why should I bother anymore, my custom is not wanted by someone who has been here 5 minutes and I have been here 20 years and dedicated my time and money to the club for most of it so why should I drag people down here.
I am starting to feel like other ST holders, this is probably my last season unless something changes and the only thing that probably will is the name.
Lets hope we make it a memorable last season for many on the pitch, I don't care if we have to start again in League One I just can not wait until that horrendous individual packs up and f*cks off.
