Badger you have to remember that our marketing guru is not a highly qualified consultant who's been in the business all his life but someone who doesn't work with facts needs to promote hot air in many places to earn a crust. Halifax is a TOWN with a population of about 90,000 Salford is CITY, part of a major conurbation, with a population of about 230,000 Totally agree jack, im just relaying what he told me. As I say, very nice of him to listen to me but sorry I did not hear one good argument for his change. My honest opinion is the decision is made the name change will happen, but we all know Marwan can change his mind like the wind.

If we got to one of the finals, what would our ticket allocation be ? Surely we'd take around 5000 to Wembley and 6-7k to Old Trafford. I can't see the club changing names in the 'middle' of the season with silverware still up for grabs. Alternatively, it's a bit of diabolical genius to do it that way. Would everyone really walk away if we were looking at a trip to Wembley and the Super 8s? Then once you've watched half a season of the Manchester Red Devils Sporting Franchise, well you might as well stick with it...

No, thanks for the info Cadger.
Just as an aside, population of Wigan just a bit more than Halifax, population of London about 8,000,000. I'm sure the gates of Wigan Warriors and London Broncos back up his argument, or then possibly not.

I'll be more than happy with a name change for the middle 8's as we'll be playing in the SUPER 8's!!!😂 If you're gonna spread rumours at least make sure you get the relevant comp correct!😉 I will get it right for you friend. We will be playing in the top eight,or the bottom eight fact.Next I did not spread a rumour I said what I was told.We will see who is right in the near future,if you are happy to watch Manchester and I think you will be, bully for you.I will say in my opinion when he does change the name he will loose at least 2.000 fans. But good luck to you when you shout come on Manchester.

Need to make a positive statement while the rest of rugby league is watching.

Erm, I assume you didn't pick up the "winky" smilie on my post then making it tongue in cheek?😕 And as I've stated in previous posts I WILL NOT support a Manchester based team so thanks for the good luck wish but I won't be needing it.😂👍 Apart from that your post is spot on.

Just seen our marketing guru in a bar on the toon, had a very frank and long chat about his merits for the job and reasons for name change Let me say now he was very accomadting of a clearly drunk and angry me, but I couldn't let this opportunity go by Crux of the long justification of his role and reason for rebrand; Manchester is much bigger. No ****. Apparently Salford is no bigger than Halifax so he says I'm not going to bore you with my arguments against this joke of an excuse. Don't be fooled by the rhetoric out of the club at the moment, as it stands they have decided to change the name and we need to make sure this doesn't happen So your telling me that Robbie Paul told you that Salford is no bigger than Halifax. I'm sorry but I can't believe that for a second. (especially because you were drunk and exasperated by the sounds of things).

As drunk as I was, I wasnt hallucinating. He may have meant fan base but if so was out of context Anyway as I say I firmly beleive Marwan has decided this is going to happen but that doesnt mean he won't change his mind. We just need to keep on doing what we're doing and enjoy the ride

Think I drew Koukash out a bit last week on Twitter after a very interesting conversation with somebody well placed. Also told in no uncertain circumstances that the players were informed of a rebrand (spittoon) after we thumped Hull FC a month or so ago. I think it's spot on the comment he can change his mind like he changes his underwear and so I'm prepared to take it at face value that it now may not be a done deal and attendances over the next 2 months might be pivotal. It should be gauged over 2+ years with a winning team though. I wasn't being sycophantic when I said the AJ Bell is beginning to feel like home after 5 years. The 2000 hardcore ST holders might possibly be quite enamoured of the place (well St Mikes + The Unicorn + The Dog & Partridge before and after games) and with each win comes good memories and a deeper affinity of the stadium. Rip the Salford name out of the equation though and it's game, set and match for me. Patience is THE virtue here. Interesting that Ian Blease seems a bit marginalised and reduced to retweets on Twitter. Hope he still has MKs ear and trust. Imagine the contracts are taking up a fair portion of his time and RHP isn't filling the void and Marwans head with fanciful tales of the yellow brick road to Manchester and the glittering prizes that might (will not) come with that. Certainly going to be an interesting few months on and off the field.

Seen the RugbyAM video from yesterday where Koukash said that if the crowds pick up over the next few weeks he wont need to think about re-branding.
To be honest, I think he has underestimated the backlash so far. Especially from those outside the club with no affiliations such as RL Journos, and is cautiously putting a bit of space between any certain decisions.

Certainly going to be an interesting few months on and off the field. Drew him out how? The child blocked me (and many others) so I can't see what nonsensical rambling you might refer to. It does worry me that Robbie Paul is even involved with the club, his record in RL post playing is shambolic at best, to me he isn't remotely qualified for the job (hatchet) he has been brought in to do. I agree, the stadium feels more and more like home, it's not the Willows (in a good and bad way) but if it were we'd be preparing for a trip to Blackpool next weekend not celebrating being 2nd in the top tier, the more it becomes associated with a winning team the more fans will engage with the place.

I think i'd take this threat a little more seriously if I hadn't read so many stories that haven't materialised over the past few years. Forming a business to supplement the rugby club financially. Was it a waterpark? Shark Park!! Buying the stadium Buying Bradford Bulls Buying Oldham Athletic and Oldham Bears Buying an NRL team - Was it Newcastle Knights? Forming a team called the 'British Bulldogs' to play in the NRL Building a stadium for Swinton Launching a TV Channel

Sorry Carnster a name change should not be on the agenda. Now it is if the crowds pick in the next couple of weeks, you and I know that is not going to happen or if they do it will be minimal.Yes we are where we are but we have some hard games coming up,if we finnish in the top six I will be delighted.I spoke to Ian Blease yesterday,I asked him about what is going on behind the scenes I did not get far but he did tell me it is being handled by Paul. You get noticed by winning things and we are a long way from that at the moment. One small step for mankind this guy wants a giant leap,it's not going to happen.Teams in the past have had a good season then the next fell away,it could happen to us.Koucash has to provide the money to make sure it does not even if he needs to get someone on board to help him.
