Disagree slightly Carnster. Yes the loose forward (Evalds, I think) at the time was slow but they did a typical Sheens move. 2 v 1 on the short side, we were right on top of it and shouting to get somebody else over. Hence when Lunt broke he was able to dummy Dobbo to the 'spare' man and was away. Surprised at how slow Jones was and how quick BMM was in the chase. Sheens always tries to unbalance the field to create the spare man and it worked.
Yes the second seemed to be obstruction, Hicks, as usual, made too quick a decision but surely the video ref saw it (and many other things) on replay, the commentary team did. Why don't they intervene as in the slower lethargic 15 man game?

I actually quite enjoyed that in the end. They out-enthused us in the first half, but the increasingly impressive Watson managed to completely flip that at half time. Not sure that would have happened in years gone by - great to see a Wentworth High lad out-coaching the former Aussie boss. The highlight for me, other than Lannon's premature moment, was Brining completely ripping off Lunt's break from loose move. Anything you can do...
Whisper it, but I thought the ref had a good game. He missed the obstruction for their second, but other than that he was grand. Made the right call on Tasi decapitating Lunt - a penalty but no more, as Lunt clearly slipped into making it look a lot worse than it was. Anyway, onwards and upwards.

Offering some constructive criticism I thought Watto got the team selection wrong last night. We had plenty of size and power on our left but a lack of pace that you could argue lead to their first try. You could also see they were targetting S'au with high kicks and he's not the best at jumping. In my opinion we should have started with O'Brien at fullback, S'au at centre and Evalds on the wing. This would have also allowed us to play Josh Jones in the pack giving us more size and impact off the bench. It was noticeable to me early in the game that a change was needed but I can't understand why we were so slow to react to a weakness that to me was so obvious.

This season every game I watch, I have that feeling that we are going to win. No matter if we are behind, like last night behind at H.T. The last time I felt like this was way back in the 70s

Evalds is a good fullback and try sniffer, but the team is better balanced with GOB at the back. Should've been Sau at centre with Evalds outside him and JJ in the pack. Im a big Jones fan but he was painfully slow for the 2 Lunt tries. Even without the questionable obstruction I think he would still have scored. Where Watson starred was that he sorted it out .When he did it is less important than he did sort it....and we won well.

The current squad need to fear nobody. Another home tie would be great but we've already proven that we can beat any team home or away

Was tricky naming a MOM for me. Koppy when he came on gave us so much more direction and impetus. Lui had his hand in everything. Evalds again was imperious and why Hull kept on continually peppering him with the towering kicks was strange. Brining, going to sound like the founder member of his fan club but for me we have a potential world beater, the scoot from the PTB is lightning fast and his defence is as good as anyone's, his try showed also that he has a ton of pace also. I'd also go on to say that if he continues his progression Australia might beckon in the future. I thought his mother had picked him.It wasn't one of is better games.

Another home tie would be great but we've already proven that we can beat any team home or away Watson should be commended for galvanising this group after the underperforming circus act we had before. Team spirit is so important and it's this spirit that has helped win us more close games this year. Winning energises players and breeds confidence. Are we the best team is Superleague? Far from it but we have several decent players and a lot of spirit right now.

Have a look at the video of the team singing together after the match (on Blease twitter) The Salford Reds are rising and S A L F O R D. MK stands quietly in the background.
Interesting to see RHP as side commentator for the Cas game today. Is there no end to his talents, Commentator, CEO of a team in liquidation, talking to our skipper on a bed, our Branding Guru, Corporate sponsor king. What's next ..........Eurovision Song Contest?

I noticed that with mk, something just doesn't sit right and I don't trust him one bit. Nervous about what's going to happen next weekend, and I don't mean the rugby.

Will that improvement happen this season? Maybe, maybe not. But the future looks bright, on the pitch at least.

Can't see a name change involving Manchester and Red, in any way, it's laughable. If you google Manchester Red Devils, guess what you get. Think/ hope its a ruse to get the City et al interested in some way.
