The disappointing thing about it is that the owner and CEO seem to be doing as much as possible this season to discredit the Salford 'brand' presumably with the plan in mind that people will be persuaded that Salfords position as a top flight club is untenable and will then happily agree to a name change. We had over 5k home fans vs Leigh which has never been mentioned, whereas as soon as we get a low crowd the owner is straight onto social media and now putting out press stories such as this:

The published crowd figures have been openly ridiculed, even away fans have been questioning the numbers. It was stated there were only 2200 home fans at Salford vs Saints which led to many Saints fans asking why we were lying about the figures. Remarkable really when you consider that away fans are usually berating Salford about crowds. This eventually prompted the CEO to state that free tickets and corporates are not included in the crowd figures, which means that our actual average is roughly 500 higher than what has been being announced all season.
The way the club have acted has all been a bit snide really. We all know our crowds are not great but lets at least put the correct figures out. Does Koukash have his eye on selling the 'franchise' to a pro Manchester group, gaining a cool £2m and wandering off into the sunset? Next year is the first year he's supposed to start paying the council loans back I think so wouldn't be surprised if he is looking to bail out.
