Just seen the attack on O'Brien that started this whole saga. It was a very late, very high attack to O'brien's head. Should have been a straight red card. Not even a penalty, and no repercussions for the Toronto thug that committed the offence. The disciplinary is a disgrace.

Does anyone know if Carney and Bailey have any previous (Bailey does seem to have previous with most SL players)? Michigan, I doubt very much if Bailey and Justin have had any previous because Bailey normally comes in third man, late against the smallest player on the opposition team.

That's his Salford career over for me. obviously some truth in the matter if he put in a guilty plea. If he would sink as low as to be racist when someone winds him up then I've got no respect for the guy and think we should get rid

Seems a very long meeting for a guilty plea.

Pleaded guilty but questioned the severity.
Wouldn't be unhappy if the club git rid, not needed at Salford or any rugby league club.

FFS just when things were looking up! I was praying to god this was all a misunderstanding but where the fcuk do we go now? Carney's a pillock and even if he isn't racist and it was a spur of the moment comment (which I'm not condoning) he's put his career in jeopardy. Does the club force Carney into a public apology/community work/anti-racism backing etc and stand by him and play the role of supportive/rehabilitating employer or do they terminate the contract with immediate effect? We can't win either way IMO and Carney has seriously left himself and the club in the Gary Glitter.
Do I think someone else will take him on if we let him go? Absolutely, assuming he makes the right noises/apologises etc. We've seen plenty of players with convictions resurrect their career so it's now down to the club whether it's us or someone else who plays the "arm round the shoulder" card.
Not a choice I'd like to make and I honestly don't know what I, as a fan, want out of this.

I'd like to see the details of the hearing before we all hang him out to dry, I had heard a rumour earlier today that marwan had asked him to put a guilty plea in just so he could get a lesser sentence, although I don't really believe anyone would do that if they hadn't done it. Did he just agree to the foul and abusive, or racial?

Not as straight forward as some think reading the statements.
He's pleaded guilty to abuse based on race or colour, and the panel accepted that he isn't racist, given him the minimum ban and a light fine.
I'm not entirely sure what to make of that as it seems contradictory. There must be circumstances or context that we don't know about that has satisfied the panel that Carney isn't racist. All a bit weird.
