The thing with TC is that opposition players looked scared of his ability and seem to hang off to watch what he does. How did Child's give an offside penalty on halfway when it was a drop out? Must surely have been given under the sticks. Thought last night the passion Koppy showed in the shirt was immense. Watch it back - you'll see that it was given as a ball strip from Flanagan - that you couldn't really see unless you were at pitch level - which in itself looked a 50-50 decision. But it hey-ho it went against us.
Yes Koppy was truly superb. They all were. BMM was quiet as I reckon Saints did their homework and had him covered more - that freed up the others - hence possibly Dobbo having more room and being on the shoulder thus scoring a couple of tries.

I am sorry to disagree with you.But in my opinion Childs did everything he could to hinder Salford. But I definitely do agree that Todd Carney has to play and from the start. The kick he put down the line, that resulted in the fumble that led to the try was class from a class player yes definitely got to start but will he. You don't have to apologise! As I saw it live too I could easily see why it seemed as though he tried his best to get Saints to win - I was joking saying to my cousin, when they were 6 points down, that he'd find a way to give them an 8 point try. When I watched it back, I looked at each decision trying to take the emotion out and actually thought that he did ok - not well, but ok. Yes I'd agree that some 50-50 decisions went against us, but is that because Childs hates us? I doubt it. He's pretty much the same with everyone. Just my opinion.
Carney looked pure class - first time I've seen him live and his passing is sublime. The speed and accuracy of it is a cut above anything I've seen. Like you said, his kicking too was brilliant. I've seen your opinions on Dobson on this forum- do you still feel the same? Would you drop Dobbo and have Carney, or would you be able to squeeze him in somewhere else?
Yes I went over the top with what I said. But I still believe everone is entitled to an opinion. But I will put this to you. You are the coach it is a cup final, you have to make a decision you start with your beat thirteen,it's either Dobson or Carney who would you play.

Yes all them things count. But surely we have to accept that Carneys training and attitude are their if not he shouldn't be at the club.Sometime coaches have to make a decision purely on who as the most ability. If Carney doesn't start at Hull their is something wrong don't you agree.

Well Mr D I would play both Dobson (7) & Carney (6) AND Lui @ 13. We have 3 of the most talented players in the League so we should play all 3.

Koppy quickly becoming a legend at this club, can not speak highly enough.
What a player, what a man. Outstanding from every man in red though, in 20 + years of following Salford never been as proud, enthusiastic and as happy as this about our wonderful club.

I'm just trying to generate debate - if you still feel the same about Dobson, then that's your opinion, no problem with that! I personally would squeeze them all in, based on that performance and that performance alone I'd drop BMM to the bench and start with Lui at 2nd row or Loose (moving Flash) Have 3 big guys and Brining on the bench. We have cover in basically all areas and plenty of ball playing halves to scare the royal sh1te out of the opposition.
So that's what I would do - what would you do?

The difficult bit for me is not having the 3 on / starting at the same time that's a given on current form, but who do you leave out?
1. Obrien 2. Carney 3. Sau 4. Welham 5. Johnson 6. Carney 7. Dobson 8. Mossop 9. Tomkins 10. Koppy 11. Jones 12. Flanagan 13. Lui
14. Brinning 15. Tasi 16. Griffin 17. BMM
Props / second row in any combination with the bench.
Backup;
18. Huaraki 19. Walne 20. Lannon 21. Krasniqi 22. Bibby 21. Wood 22. Evalds

Scary/exciting that we're even discussing struggling to fit Todd Carney into our starting 13!!! We've got a massive amount of flexibility in that squad listed above. The fact we can have 3 or 4 players out and not be massively weakened shows that Watto had done a tremendous job. And to think we lost Josh Griffin and Scott Taylor at the end of last season as well!
Lui and Dobbo have been immense and Todd Carney just oozes class. He just seems to have forever on the ball and adds that little bit of "x factor"to what is moulding into a cracking squad of players.
Exciting times indeed.
