Watching the highlights the tries were actually better than I remember. Fantastic performance, Lui was awesome, we ran some great lines, Widnes were poor but we were on fire. Need to keep it up for Thursday, massive opportunity being on sky.
Great crowd there as well, I reckon over the thousand being mentioned on twitter. Can't stop smiling today!!

Watched the match back early this morning. Bloody insomnia strikes again.
Some great plays and tries, and we could have easily scored about three more if the execution had been on point. A few thoughts on performances...
Dobson and Lui worked like clockwork and ran the show brilliantly the whole game, but particularly in the first half. All the forwards looked effective and fit, and we made good post contact metres (The new big thing!) Tasi looks like he has totally forgotten his Saints odyssey and brought his previous Salford form back with him. Brining is going to be deadly as his experience grows. He looks fit and his turn of speed and strength are going to terrorise many SL clubs. Justin Carney worked really hard and did a lot of the donkey work at the back, but looked every inch the wrecking-ball whenever he got the ball. Todd Carney, once he settled in, looked a class above. Crisp passes, constantly dangerous, made a great break, and a hand in a couple of tries. He has that wonderful quality of creating time that all great halves have. It surprised me how well it worked with Dobbo, lui and Carney on at the same time but they all seemed to slip in and out of plays quite effortlessly like they've been doing it for a while. It certainly will be a handful for any club faced with so many ball-players running at you at once.
A few basic errors and a couple of needless penalties the only negative for me, although I'm just nit-picking on what was a real stand-out performance from Salford.

Watched the highlights earlier and even from the brief few snippets the prospect of having Carney, Dobson and Lui on the field at the same time is mouth watering and if Brining is on there's not a defence in SL that will be safe.
Think also we will see BMM, GG & JJ crossing more and more as they are going to benefit massively on the edges from all the crisp creative passing from the middle.
Really do wish we'd use Justin Carney less as a battering ram as he is undoubtedly a much better player than that.
Think Thursday is now the next yardstick game, Saints found their mojo on Friday like we did and seems on paper to be a highly entertaining free scoring game, win and we are firmly in the top 8 and I'd think uncatchable by Warrington and Widnes already.

Did Watto hold back Josh Jones and Lee Mossop from the Widnes game in readiness for the Saints game, I'd be impressed if he did?

Apparently missed was rested and jj was being a soft arse again and pulled out. Think his days might be numbered as there not too impressed with attitude. If that is the case then I can't see it being tolerated by Watson. I like Jones but Welham has claimed the centre spot and the seconds are playing well. With Junior pulling his hamstring Jones has a chance but it's no good if he's crying off. (If that is the case)

Not heard anything about JJ being a "soft arse"/disruptive influence and for me he should (attitude & fitness permitting) be part of our starting 13. Seems to me he's as committed as anyone in the squad when he's on the pitch and will run through brick walls so I'm sure I'm not the only one who's surprised by this "soft arse" revelation

The comment is probably down to his injury record. Without knowing all the details it's hard to say but with the way other players are performing, I certainly wouldn't say he's nailed on for a start when fit

With a fully fit team, when he starts in the pack he offers both forward and back cover which is critical, if a back gets injured he can seemlessly slot into centre bringing a forward off the bench to replace him. Based on his performances since he's been with us and the calibre of player he is I would be disappointed to see him leave, but then I don't know what's actually going on behind closed doors.

We saw Josh Jones at the Castleford game and spoke to him, he was ill and his hand still hasnt 100% recoverd so maybe thats why he was rested on friday. No doubt a fit Josh Jones is the first name on the team sheet.Missed the game on friday due to work so listened to it and apart from the first 10 minutes with the penaltys we was giving them it sounded good.the last two seasons April seems to be a nightmare for us, espically after easter. 2015 season we lost chase & Weller after beating Wigan due to suspension then 13 more injuries which we tried to call the Hull game off, then last season the rfl took 6 points off so im hoping for a decent easter this season.

I too like Josh Jones and hope that any possible slip in his attitude has been caused because he came back too early from his broken hand. JJ has been a great signing, especially when we consider that apart from his playing performances, he's still young and already a Grand Final winner along with Mark Flanagan. We need that kind winning mentality and experience going into the* big games that will follow if we keep playing this well.
* Tempted to use 'them', ala Glen Hoddle, but resisted.

I'm concerned about comments on his attitude and the fact that the powers that be are disappointed. All of a sudden, one comment on here has been regarded as 'fact'. He came back very early indeed from a serious hand injury and always gives 100% as far as I can see. I think we should bury the attitude comment unless there is greater explanation. Fit,he's in the first 13, nailed on.

Fake news non story and hardly helpful.
From now on I'll only take things as Gospel after I've read it officially from the club.
