Yes he played there for Roosters but I can't see him ousting GoB from that position. Think he'll start on the bench but then Lui will make way for him.

All being available and playing to their potential I think the starting 13 more or less picks itself. The issues are starting with Lui or Carney and then having two halfs on the bench thus reducing your forward inter changes.
1. GoB 2. Carney 3. Welham 4. Sau 5. Johnson / Evalds 6. Lui / Carney 7. Dobson 8. Griffin 9. Tomkins 10. Kopzack 11. BMM 12. Jones 13. Flanagan
14. Brinning 15. Carney / Lui or Huaraki? 16. Mossop 17. Tasi
Either way very tastey looking potential 17, Watsons got some tough decisions ahead.

What worries me is that Carney is only here for a year, we drop Lui and he gets the hump we could by the end of the season be without either. We can't drop GOD as he's been a revelation, think Dobson is a must at 7 and can't see Carney not getting a gig with the money he will be on.
GOD Carney Sau Jones Evalds Carney Dobson Kopczak Tomkins Mossop BMM Hauraki Flanagan
Griffin Brining Lui Tasi
Worrying lack of forward power on the bench, unless we go for Griffin playing for 60/80 minutes in the front row in the Gallen style.

This. i agree about lack of bench power but ultimately do I want Lui or Walnes/Krasniqi. we need Welham to play. in practice they won't all be fit at the same time so it's a bit academic. good problem to have, though.

I personally think Krasniqi is vastly underrated, does the big minutes, gets the tackles in and isn't a penalty machine. Feel sorry for the Walnes, both have huge amounts of ability but they seem unable to cut out the stupid penalties, thing is they are both more than capable squad players who are home grown and won't be on a huge amount of money.
Welham is a cracking centre I grant you but you must have Jones on the pitch as he offers so much versatility, I'd hate to be in Watsons shoes as he does have a real headache, other teams manage it though.
I'm not a fan of rotating players just for the sake of it, if someone really needs a rest then so be it but just say resting Lui (who by all accounts was back to his best Friday V Leeds) and playing Carney is folly.
All that said if he club has anything about it they will be banging the drum (pun intended) this week about Carney making his debut in front of a bumper crowd.

I agree, I think Lui has given IW a right headache with that performance last friday reminded me of how good he was first half of last season. I think it's great that we have cover for a fair few positions

One other option to mix it up that will give you plenty of strike power and the forward interchange cover......
1. GoB 2. Carney 3. Welham 4. Sau 5. Evalds 6. Carney 7. Dobson 8. Griffin 9. Tomkins 10. Kopzack 11. BMM 12. Jones 13. Lui
14. Brinning 15. Flanagan 16. Mossop 17. Tasi

Had thought about Lui at #13, pretty big guy and Christ can you think of a team with a better creative sou E than GOD, Carney, Dobson & Lui all on the park at once. Give them J Carney, Junior, JJ and BMM running into gaps and they could create havoc.
