It's also worth pointing out that Carney and Dobson were half back partners for Canberra back in 2007 and 2008 so hopefully they can build on that already existing partnership according to Dobson - their playing relationship was 5 years at Canberra , 16-21 . fingers crossed no hickups visa-wise , pressure will be on Liu . Dobson looking forward to Carney Reunion

There was no news about this, could be that there are issues and the club are trying to overcome them or the hearing was today and a decision isn't reached immediately.
Fingers crossed he gets his visa as can't wait to see him in a Salford shirt soon.

Asked on Twitter Ian Blease said that the Visa hearing has been Tuesday and they were waiting for the outcome.
What worries me is that if Carney doesn't come there are precious few options to bring anyone else in, that said watching the NRL 9's there are some incredible athletes from the NYC squads, there was a kid from St George who I swear made MCB look like a prop he was that speedy and a couple of huge forwards with hands like a #7 and quick feet - Little wonder England are international auto rans.

Apparently there should be news today as it's the 6th full working day since the hearing.

It was a bit 'tongue in cheek'......some pie official sat in his office doing all he can to delay the rubber stamping until1530 tomorrow ;-)

Even if he'd have got his Visa this week never in the memory of man would he have played tomorrow, there's little to know chance of him playing next week either. You only have to look at Mauro and Foran to see the reasons against someone jumping of a jumbo straight into a game.
Firmly of the opinion that a player should always make his debut at home where possible, I can however see him being rushed into playing against Leeds as they looked very brittle again last night, someone with his skill set could pick them to pieces.
Other than that a nice home debut against Warrington, big crowd with lots of atmosphere.

To compare Carney with the Foran and Murano is like comparing say Cantona with Anderson? They were no where near the class level, hadn't previously played SL in England and they also came over like they'd been out of the game for the previous two years. Carney has at least been keeping himself fit for the boxing and still training if his IG posts are anything to go by. But I would agree it would've have been a big ask to get him for the Wigan game, but one I would've liked to have seen.
