Yes I did think that Grant gave things as he saw and didn’t seem to be influenced by the constant whinging Saints players or fans.
He didn’t get everything right and also used the Video Ref and Linesmen properly
I think now there’s more interaction between on field ref and video ref…not upto RU standards but getting there…all for the better now every match has two refs

I always thought that Murphy played union during his stint in the services (RAF, I believe).

Not so long after he signed, Salford were trailing by a point and Murphy knocked Watkins out….he came round on the half way line, near touch and kicked the goal…Murphy, who was jealous of the money he was signed for, went up to him, shook his hand and walked off with his arm round him Pity they never played together as halfbacks |
