At 20 - 6 I thought we'd be lucky to get close but more importatntly I thought this SRD side can't half compete, no matter what!

I was worried that if Paul Rowley was ever indisposed we would struggle but my mind it now at rest, because we have coaches on here to step inš¤ Crazy isnāt it people having opinions on a forum š Side note stone was top last night really hitting form I thought stone was out least effective player last night. At fault for 2 of the trys when ball watching and what was he doing at the end with walmsley and risking a penalty? Playedpretty well first couple of matches and but wasn't as effective last night.

Not sure who made the tackle on Walmsley at the end, but that was magnificent. Think they may well have scored in the next couple of tackles.

I've watched the tries we conceded back a few times and I don't blame Stone for any of them. I blame penalties for giving them position for their first try. Another try came after giving up possession by attempting an offload in a ridiculous situation. Our middles became too compressed following the ball to our left for Percival's try. And their last try came on the back of us giving up loads of yardage and then possession in our half.again. Giving up easy field position is usually the reason for conceding. Not many tries are scored from 40+ metres.
Rowley, yet again, was spot on with his assessment. Lots of praise for all the things we did well but noting that we lacked composure for a period (after the red card, for 15 minutes) and polish at times. If we can tidy up we'll be very hard to beat because of the work ethic and togetherness the team has, sprinkled with a little bit of high quality.

Do you think we will shift brierley to 6 and and Ryan fullback because we canāt expect borough to do 80 against Wigan, unless partington is fit and we can use Shorrocks at 9 as well!hopefully a clean bill of health apart from Cust

I'd like to see Morgan given a game since he's a genuine half back. Warrington have played Hayes the last few weeks and he's done well. They need a shot at some point. We've signed his as a third HB, so why not play him when we have a half back out? However, I expect Atkin to play 6. Morgan could then be used for 20 minutes at hooker. Alternatively, we could carry a player like Dixon on the bench which would allow Shorrocks to have a spell at hooker. I'm not a fan of moving Shorrocks there as I don't thinks it's his position. I'd rather Morgan play at 6 or have a spell at 9. I also mentioned earlier in the great. I actually think Cust would be a better 9 than 6.

Good to the Club, Rowley et al, noticed the head hit on Custā¦as Rowley said āpity he didnāt stay down as it might have been picked upā
And good to see Video Refs properly watching for foul play and other offencesā¦developing well Big improvement Video Ref at each gameā¦cuts out the necessary guessing sometimes

Team 93% completion rateā¦amazing If you look on the Superleague site and compare Watkins and Stone stats, they balanceā¦Stone more defending Watkins more attacking but Stone didnāt throw the ball away in his own 20š

I think our pack matched the much talked about dynamic Saints pack. The back three held thereās and Knowles, who continues to bully smaller men, should have only been on the field for 20 min But again the Saints pressing pack never seemed onside
Brierley bothers me a bit at the mo not moving across the back of the line and covering holesā¦for the Percival try he seemed ball watching.
Attack is getting there tho and hopefully the combinations will get better and Brierley will be able to come into it more

Brierley not running the ball back immediately bothers me. It's costs us a lot of metres every game. Players like Field, Dufty, Welsby etc, catch and set off. Get as many metres back as you can. Have the closest winger follow up and jump out from dummy half and then then next winger or centre.
