Well done Mr Mayor :-
`“In a mission close to my heart, Salford Red Devils RLFC will retain their position playing in the City of Salford, which is why the Community Stadium was built in the first place all those years ago, along with it being a place to call home for Salford Reds and Sale Sharks.`

Best news we as salford fans have been waiting for. Hopefully some stability and we can now move on. Like everyone else has said, big thanks to all involved and I can put my own 50 mil away now.

its great news but a commercial leases grants 'exclusive possession' to one company. so how does that work in reality, Have salford and sale formed some sort of new legal entity that then agrees how to share access. If Salford are the main tenant we can then grant sub lease to Sale but why would they accept that they could argue and make a case for being the main tenant. still lots of hurdles to get through yet but still positive news on the face of it.

I'd imagine that it would continue as it is now, with Sale are the Primary tenants—first refusal on pitch use, the stadium banking right etc, though this comes with added costs and responsibilities on their end; I'm sure I read something in the past by Paul King who mentioned Sale would be paying £1 million and that's not something Salford wanted to do. The key thing is that under the new lease we'll be able to generate a percentage of income from food & drink, exploit other commercial opportunities, and, I'd imagine, that the game day costs will be lowered—from memory I think we pay a game day fee plus 8% of ticket sales. I also seem to remember Marwan saying we had the most expensive rent in the SL.
