The sooner Peel are out of the equation, the better! Russ peel did us a favour And did Sale far more favours than we've seen in our whole history!

Peel are doing us no favours and require numerous guarantees from the council. The general consensus within Peel is that the deal will be killed by red tape. The real problem seems to be a growing number of labour councillors are thinking it is money that could be spent on more pressing issues. I asked the person I know at peel for simple percentage of this happening and he said around 30%, but Peel change their stance like the wind. I reckon hold our nerve and keep the faith. Good things will happen eventually. I'm of a similar outlook BimBam as far as Peel are concerned & I hope it's not eventually but just around the corner.

One thing we have going for us, is that Peel would love to install a tarmac runway at City Airport. This is something the council have always refused, but there could be a little bit of back scratching.

I very much doubt that the council would take this to a vote without the deal being agreed in principle beforehand. Dennett wouldn’t risk his reputation if this wasn’t a done deal

So it’s really mixed messages then as some are saying peel are not agreeing and others are saying after Tuesday the deals done I don’t think any of us know really which way this is going and the clubs position of saying a deal will be done by march doesn’t seem likely at the minute!

Friend the way I remember in the beginning Peel and the council built the stadium when John Wilkinson's plan hit the buffers if at that stage peel hadn't got involved with the council we would now be paying on peel park excuse the pun.

If I remember correctly wasn't it down to Peel's objections that Wilky's plan hit the buffers in the first place

www.seriousaboutrl.com/salford-red-devils-stadium-set-for-shock-new-ownership-88014/This was a fascinating bit of insight into a few things: how many investments the council has made into stuff for the arts (and I'm sure there more than those mentioned) but the sums of money involved that seemed to have gone by without a murmer from tories or those tax payers who don't like RL. Peel, and Sale come to that, have always had an ru agenda that has never included SRD except when it was expedient.
Does anyone know when we'll hear the news?

I think the argument the tories have is that those other things like royal bridgewater at Worsley bring money into the city the problem they have is that including buying the stadium the council will be into it for over 30 million and when are gates are a core 3-3500 people and cuts are being made all over the city they have a point!im an avid Salford fan but I have seen what cuts to things like mental health have done and cutting carers, potholes everywhere and that’s there point im not saying the tories are right but that’s there argument!

Councils need to find income generation hence Salford CC is investing in the future on land which will only rocket up in price. The two existing tenants are just the baseline for investment, the councils plan must combine this with the investment being pumped into Salford and Trafford over the next 5-10 years.

Wilkinson plan hit the buffers when the guy who was buying the willows land went bump so Wilkinson didn’t have funds without council and peel to build the new ground!
