The Council have said they will issue a statement on Friday but this will be nothing more than a holding reply to the Clubs statement. Without wanting to go down a rabbit hole of the workings of local government, it is not the Council staff or officers that will make any decision. Decisions on this scale will be made by the Elected Members - the Ward Councillors that sit on the Councils Cabinet. There are Cabinet meetings scheduled for the end of November and December and the agenda has to be published publicly in advance.
The point I am trying to make is that no formal decision can have been made by the Council since the Club issued its statement so the Council can only re-iterate their current position and explain the next steps they have to go through to reach a way forward that they can support.

Agree with this in terms of due process. Though there are things we can do like contact our MPs and the Mayors office to lobby, share the petition which is now past 13k signatures. Sitting on the side line is not an option, we need to voice our opinion. I'd expect those of us attending 150th dinner at the weekend will get some kind of update from the Clubs perspective. Paul Kings position on moving out of Salford when Moor Lane was being proposed was always that he'd walk if it ever came to pass. I do not blame he one bit if this is his perspective, he mentions moving out of Salford in his BBC interview. The council have been slow and left us hanging, another massive decision looms, not quite Pendleton Church but a seminal moment in the clubs history is going to be decided upon.

The concept of the handout is a piece of nonsense. There is little point in a local governement that does little or next to nothing. It is what we have in England at present though. This is a political outlook that dominates but is as empty as it is illogical and uncaring. And because of this ..... I can see SRD moving out of the town and going out of business, and Sale taking over the stadium. I doubt they'll ever use the name Salford either. "I'll meet you on the level and see you on the square!" Russ it's a good job your not with the Samaritans. If I was involved there wouldn't be a need for the Samaritans.

Obviously this will never be a priority for the council meetings and is most likely to be 4789th on the to do list, waitng in the pending tray in the file marked one day, in the cellar store room at the council offices behind a door with beware of the Tories emblazoned on the glass.
And given all that ......

Well it is the Clubs 150th Year Celebration on Saturday night, no doubt the elephant in the room (Stadium) will be addressed even if it is a no news update.

Well the picture is grim.
Council innactive which makes support useless.
Certain parts of the discussion groups quite clearly wasting time which makes their contributions suspect to say the least.
And on top of all that the RL family have once again shown their hand which ranges from negative to deliberately destructive.
I suppose we can say we made it to a century and a half without their help and despite their indifference and hinderence.

We have to be relentless with the petition, promote it ASAP to build a case and public opinion.

Daft Headline. Liquidation? Why? Just means we don`t play at the AJB and Salford City Council will not receive the slightest benefit. Barmy situation. Suella would sort it.

The points made originally were far less dramatic. Not much point in a COS stadium without the oldest professional city set up playing there. Peel, Sale Jiggery-pokery at work with local government working at the usual snail's pace a recipe for nowt happening if ever there was one. As for Suella like alot of families who benefitted from England being a welcoming place, as it should be, they're okay now so let's pull up the draw bridge. Much like the Pilgrim Fathers in the US moving there for religious freedom and they found it was so good they decided not to let anyone else have any. In any case what part of the Ethiad have SRD looked into? Is it a stadium that would gain IMG approval. Then again in order to make sure people keep investing and propping clubs up the RFL fine them for breaking operational rules.
After staring in Manc 150 or so years ago maybe there's a kind of poetic feeling to going back for a last hurrah.

Russ I no you don't like union But I don't think Sale are causing us harm, the problem is we don't no what is happening or what the problem is but i am sure it's not Sale. The way I understand it Sale and Salford City were paying 14 million for the ground, then the council said no and they were buying the ground for the community so the way I see it is that peel need 7 million

Interestingly I saw a Google post where somebody had asked the Council (freedom of information) for the value/ cost of the Stadium "Salford City Council AJ Bell Stadium purchase - cost estimates - a Freedom of Information request to Salford City Council - WhatDoTheyKnow" www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/salford_city_council_aj_bell_sta
