Got my response back from Barbara Keeley's office last night it stated she will be speaking to Salford Council this week. Just hope Paul Dennett can force some urgency. I do no believe that the council will back track on the lease, there is no noise on the issue coming from Salford FC and Robin 'Tory Boy' Garrido has gone quiet for the moment.
Its worth emailing the City Mayor and your MP on this such is the importance of the issue facing the club, it is boom or bust.

Brilliant MTR, but we have to remember that it’s not a case of the City saving the Club, it’ll be a ‘commercial’ decision and we can assume that officers will have been charged with undertaking due diligence on the arrangements in order that the City does not have to subsidise the Club.

And that is fine, the board maintain their 5 year plan is Sustainable. The council chose not to sell the stadium last year, the intent is to do a deal. The profitability of the stadium is pinned on Salford like it is one horse race, Sale RU need to make money too as a tenant. The council have two teams in the stadium who in recent years have done well on the pitch and grown attendances in the right direction. There has to be a way to make this work.

Maybe we could follow Swinton round the country, trying home after home, stadium after stadium?

Dixon if we owned the stadium I'd have Sale out and Swinton in, in the blink of an eye.
Getting help from City Hall is stupidly and illogically contentious when private investment is non-existent. It also forms part of that pattern of them and us nonsense which like fascism is everwhere now. That's probably just a coincidence of course.

Obviously going public won’t help but they’re a long way to go with IMG and we h@ve good things in the b@nk. A compromise will be re@ched but when it is the Club will have to stand on its own feet
Let’s hope Rowls can inspire the squad again and we at least get near mid t@ble. Seems as tho we have what we have in terms of players…maybe Bleasy can do some loan deals to at least get us to 27/28 players
Dixon what’ll make you happy in terms of League points this year?

People going on like the council should be doing more it’s millions of pounds of money we’re talking about without the council letting us play a few years for next to nothing and originally building the stadium when the club we’re supposed to be building it,I think they have done a lot to help!the problem is we’re not generating any income and that’s not the councils fault,we get 5000 fans in a city of a quarter of million if it goes belly up it’s certainly not the councils fault like jjr says we have to stop expecting handouts because that’s what we’re doing!

The concept of the handout is a piece of nonsense.
There is little point in a local governement that does little or next to nothing. It is what we have in England at present though. This is a political outlook that dominates but is as empty as it is illogical and uncaring. And because of this .....
I can see SRD moving out of the town and going out of business, and Sale taking over the stadium. I doubt they'll ever use the name Salford either.
"I'll meet you on the level and see you on the square!"
