Just another bit of jiggery-pokery by the sound of your explanation!
But as the thread is IMG ratings: Did UFC and WWE have grading systems or any other sport these organisations are connected with?

I doubt UFC and WWE did but then they are not really team sports (the actors in WWE probably need to go through an audition on a regular basis, maybe ). Professional Bull Riding? Who knows...

I just wondered if the grading system was sport specific and if that's the case where and how they came up with the criteria and its weighting.
If it had been something like that's the kind of approach they have with everything they're involved with it's one thing and if they've only done it with RL that's quite another!

It always does.
I think a change of name for the forum to the RJJ & JJR Show , while we're on the topic of evolving criteria.

You might be getting there Russ…Evolution not Revolution as Che Guevara identified..…I hope so but….🙃
Pick some guidelines, improve them with experience, develop the system…and with hard work you get there

I think looking at Che's fate would be an indication there.
As I said earlier the RFL could have done all this without IMG and the clubs certainly could have achieved all this, and I'm not entirely convinced of the ultimate goal.
I think the clubs already were doing the hard work in any case.

R….Without an external body the clubs would not have moved Change is obviously needed but the last time anything like this happened we moved to the AJ Widnes Wigan Leigh all changed grounds…Wakey Cas KR did nothing and got away with it because there were no checks or penalties
IMG in my view are moving in the right direction…possibly to a 14/15 team SL….the frightening thing is we were fourth but within a whisper of losing out to Toulouse in SL possibly because of our finances…so it should give us a big kick up the butt. If Rowley hadn’t done so well with the team would we be in SL this season? Awful ..

Your point about Wakey etc is on the money. They will still have the traditional ones with a bit of update, and IMG ratings put us as low as them.
I think your slightly jaundiced view of SRD's set-up as well as your business outlook tends to make you view IMG favourably.
My sceptical view tends to do the opposite.
When I look at the other businesses they're involved with the differences are quite marked and not in the least bit helpful in either highlighting what the end game is nor why these aspects are the ones chosen. To me they look straight out of the Hetherington et al playbook and not necessarily the primary issues for why RL is where it is.
IMG have made things happen quicker it's true but the changes in the SC by the RFL are certain to keep top clubs at the top.

There’s nothing jaundiced about my view…to me it’s scary reality…did anybody have any idea of the real situation?
The top clubs are there chiefly because of their finances but it’s good to see KR and Leigh getting up there…I just hope that all the positive statements made on here about the finances and ground come to fruition because it seems others are not far behind us…but who knows what reality is ..we have a deathly silence again from within

HKR & Leigh are there for much the same reason as the top clubs their financial backers are rich primarily.
The top clubs are there for all sorts of reasons but one of the main things is their role in decision making and the benefits flow that their way because of that.
If the "deadly silence" means the RFL that's their go to position, if you mean the club then I'm afraid that's yours!
