Hi Even tho I’m new here I was wondering what ideas and plans we can come up with to help the club out either help raising money or help raise the profile of the club. I do have a lot of ideas and suggestions I would like to bounce around and get people’s opinions and anyone’s else’s ideas

Firstly, welcome to the forum.
Feel free to throw ideas out here and people will contribute. Just hope everyone who will contribute will do so without too much baggage...You know who you all are...

Before I start is anyone on here have close connections or anything with the club or with anyone who works at the club. I’m only asking because if some ideas are good the club can be made aware or if some ideas aren’t good instead of shutting that idea down it can be explained why that idea won’t or can’t work

There's at least 1 person on here who is involved with the commercial sub-committee that's been set-up so fire away mate and I'm sure he/they will be more than happy to take any decent ideas forward.👍

Well 1 of the first thing I’d like to mention is how much are the club and foundation involved in the community they seems to be so much going on in Salford at the moment and the club doesn’t seem to be involved so many up and coming local businesses so many events which attracts so many people just look at media city at the moment it keeps growing and growing.
If we can get involved in the local businesses and communities this would surely be beneficial for the club financially and reaching new audiences and bringing new customers to them local businesses

Feel free to share your thoughts on here or privately with myself or other sub-committee members on here

I would love to be apart of the committees and groups but due to work it’s hard to attend any meetings or anything but thank you for your offerings
Is they anyone on here or know any local businesses which could potentially benefit the club and the local communities I can think of a few breweries they is a new food court opened up at the Lowry. Mentioning Lowry I think it would be awesome for the club to celebrate famous people from Salford like LS Lowry or Harold Riley and many others

I would love to get involved but due to work commitments it’s a struggle tbh
Does anyone have any ideas about raising money One of my thoughts is raffling off some gift cards for places like Morrisons or Tesco or Asda to help families with the cost of living Any thoughts?

How would that work and what sort of money would you expect that to raise?

Well if you raffle off 100 tickets for £5 I’m sure they would sell out you can make £500 and sell a Morrisons gift card for £100 ?? but even if the club doesn’t sell the foundation or supporters trust could do it … or you could sell alot more tickets 1 it’s helping the community 2 it’s raising money 3 it’s raising profile 4 you could raffle off something else which could be worth alot more and charge more for the tickets

The one thing that makes money to keep this Zclub going is selling players; so do what Man City do …..invest in talented 19/20 year olds for the A Team, let our elite coaching squad develop them and sell them on at a profit

The supporters trust & foundation do a lot of brilliant fundraising stuff but at much lower levels (but it's definitely needed and appreciated I might add!). The best thing we can do as supporters is to support the events they put on, quiz nights, music nights, Saturday's Race Night in Walkden etc. That cash should go towards reserves/youth development etc. Events on that scale aren't going to make up deficits of 2/3/400k a season though. For that we need income streams through additional sponsors/matchday revenue etc. The fact we are a tenant in a 11,500 stadium but we can't benefit from anything on a match day is a joke. No parking income, no beer/pie sales. How they expect to shift beer that is rank at £5.50/£6.50 a pop is beyond me. As a comparison, at the GF at OT last weekend I bought a "meal deal" for £9.50 which included pie, pint & chocolate. Ok that's pricey but you're in the stadium of arguably one of the world's biggest 3/4 clubs. I'm pretty sure I saw a "pie & pint" meal deal at the SCS at the Catalans game for £9+. It's an absolute rip-off and a piss-take by the SMC. The SCS should be hosting music concerts, comedy YouTuber "boxing" events etc which would turn over 100's of thousands per event easily. It's criminally underused.

Yes the stadium is so underused compared to when it first opened they was loads of weddings and boxing events going on now they is nothing so that definitely needs to change to help both the club and stadium. I think the club should be able to be in charge of the outside catering and activities they could invest in a proper mobile bar or something and all the money made would go straight back to the club but sadly the stadium caters are in charge of the outdoor areas

Do we the Council or Sale have control of the Stadium?
