John, the reason why we have to sell players is that we don’t have enough fans paying they’re hard earned at the turnstiles. The club do have plans of course and I helped write them but at the end of the day you have bills to pay and you can only work with what you have.
Why don’t you change tack and instead of slagging off the club management for once make some constructive suggestions that will take us forward.

I don’t slag off the Club Pete, I ask questions. Last year the Business Plan failed and before the hiatus of ideas I was merely asking what next 1/3/5 years plans are.
I have made suggestions, on here, both about Planning taking into account new opportunities presented by IMG and suggestions to raise money…if you care to look.
People dismiss thorough planning but without a researched and fully tested Strategic Plan, lots of meaningless activity can occur. If you doubt this ask Rowley if he has a thorough plan befotpre each match

It doesn’t come across that way John so let’s keep the converse positive and constructive rather than all the negativity that grinds folk down. For goodness sake we on here debating because we love our club and we all want it to flourish and win things. I’m all for constructive criticism but there comes a point when the criticism descends into unnecessary vitriol.

As my old Prof used to say Pete ‘critique should be welcomed and is the path to the correct answer if listened to and analysed’. Asking for a Strategic Plan is merely to starting point.

When there is a plan to critique😉
But if you care to look thro some of the posts Pete there is a good deal of constructive info…looking forward to your thoughts on, for example - no free tickets and hospitality..everybody pays - planning for new methods of media delivery of matches…the opportunity - etc

I have no idea who gets freebies or not but I have no beef if the board don’t pay for tickets because they work on match days. PK visits every private box building relationships as does Paul Trainor who is the master of ceremonies pre and post the game. There is lots that go on behind the scenes that makes the cogs turn and without those dedicated employees we wouldn’t have a match day experience, it’d be chaos.

That’s what happens at other community clubs…ask the ex CEO of Wrexham…at least freebies is something the Business Group can look at …as we seem to be in desperate times…a penny saved is a penny earned

It’s not a priority John, there are much more pressing matters that needs the board’s attention such sorting the Stadium lease issues out, negotiating sponsorship deals and 2024 recruitment. Issues like free tickets are on the periphery and should remain so. You’ll be asking for the kids to pay for their tickets at the community games next👹

For your sub committee mate? No John (JJR). The new lease on the stadium is the one thing that makes the future sustainable especially with a clause around food and beverage written into it. The club are 100% focussed on this as Salford 1963 makes out and are right to do so, we need ground security long term to prosper. I think the board with limited resources have done fantastic, they have grown attendances by 92% since 2018, Koukash did not do that. So with a more balanced stadium lease this puts the club in a strong position notwithstanding we are the most well run club in Super League based on 2022 losses. As I have said before I was utterly embarrassed by the reactions of a minority of our fans who levelled person abuse and hatred towards Paul King. The fuss over two players being sold FFS, to backfill finances?? These morons will not come out and praise the board when they get a sustainable and beneficial stadium lease over the line. Anyhow I agree with Salford 1963 the club has its priorities, although John (JJR) if you want to join the business sub committee and implement policy that controls free tickets you do it, the more members they have the better.

I have never leveled abuse at anyone so I don't have answer for that, but the getting shut of your best player and say it's for financial reasons is not a good look is it. If anyone on the forum abused anyone I think they would be called out

Yes a days work to look at freebies and potentially save/ generate income; I’m.sure the sub-committees will be tied up with making major strategic issues…so that we’ll have a 1/3/5 researched and fully developed Strat Plan
No sub- committees for me WRD , you are already top heavy with people making decisions, and the more committees you have, generally the fewer decisions made; served on too many listening to too many opinions…most of the sadly valueless…generally quality not quantity succeeds

We're talking about the reaction on Facebook & Twitter Dixon with regards unacceptable criticism/abuse of the board.
None of us know the inner workings of the club's finances but we all know we've continually scraped by on a shoestring budget. Unforeseen reductions in funding and not receiving promised income from matchday revenue streams obviously hits us harder than anyone else and we aren't in a position to be bailed out by a sugar daddy.
As such, player sales are inevitable.
Whether it's a good look or not is sadly immaterial. I'd rather lose players and have a club than go under.

I think our priority this season needs to be to make sure we're scoring enough points on IMG's criteria to be a Superleague team. It might mean that sacrifices to the team are made to demonstrate that we are on a fairly good financial footing, but if it means we get to keep our SL status it's a small price to pay in the short term.
