JJR get real Leigh do not have a massive squad, half their pack are Super League Journeyman. Lam has made them better as a group. Our backline on paper 1-7 is better than KR or Leigh but we have not played well all year bar Hull away. You put Rowley on pedestal and blame the board for our failure. Rowley got Leigh relegated and Toronto did not pull up trees before going Pop. Our Coach has had half a decent season last year, you can talk about expectation and punching above our weight by all means but it means nothing, outcomes are what matters. Our coach is on a 7 game losing run, he has just lost it after a game and will be punished. I get Smith was awful, however yet again the team cannot defend a 10 plus point lead. For me Rowley needs to win at least 3 of the last 6 games otherwise questions need to be asked of him and the team. We've got Wright missing really, we need to stop signing injury prone 30 plus players who as a coach he likes, this off season is massive for the club especially if money is available. You can have the best back line in the world but if your pack isn’t performing it doesn’t matter which is where Leigh and kr have us Correct, Rowley signed his boys in the off season who with respect ain’t good enough. Time to expect more from Rowley and the squad. Whilst our fans dislike Watson he delivered finals with I’d argue with a lesser squad. It’s not a witch hunt just more is required and expected the next 6 games. So for me Rowley has done ok, nothing more. The acid test is how we perform at Hudds after his rant. You are not telling me that Leigh only spent as much as us are you because I ain't having it,Rowley as beat Leigh twice and at there place at that. You keep on about Rowley as bought the players,so if its down to him why isnt Mr Blease sacking him or is it something to do with him as well. I will take you back to the Leeds game I think it was,it wasn't Rowley who booted the ball right out of play,it was Snyed if I remember correctly. So I would say that loss was more down to him than than the coach. How many coaches have we had since John Wilkinson left and none of them have won anything and some have had more money than Paul Rowley.I have said to you before while their is mud being slung let's sling a bit at those that cross the white wash the players. Because we have had more coaches than Feildsends,but Fieldsends were more successful. I have learnt after watching the team for 70 years it's been said many times,the next six games are crucial |

The attendance at Wembley today was 58,213, A lot of Hull KR supporters didn't make it for kick-off or even any of the due to a Apparently Fatal accident on the M1 in which a KR fan died.
So, just a bit of perspective on the seemingly never-ending thread on this for regards Paul Rowley .

Lam and Peters teams playing a competitive final. Their squads are not star studded much like ours. Got me thinking Rowley should feel pressure to win games, watching this final brings it home to this point in the season we’ve gone backwards. The signings this season were dreadful bar Ollie and we’ve lost our spark in attack. Make all the excuses you want about Refs and injuries we’ve been bang average. That’s on Rowley The last 2 months hasn’t been good enough. It`s Mrs Powell again. Looking for a Job for her Hubby. YAWN. |

I will end my view on this thread here. Loads of you on here think Rowley is amazing which is fair enough. All I am saying is that his Head Coach record is not particularly impressive bar last year's semi final, our signings this year (Stone and Partington apart) have been poor and we're on a 7 game losing run. Now if we do not see an improvement in the last 6 games questions need to be asked of our coach. I'm not advocating changing the coach, just concerned that his tactics have not worked this year, I have seen no change in our approach this year, the rugby has been average most of the time like we're going through the motions. After his Smith rant Hudds will either be a 20+ win or 20- loss, depends on how the players react to his comments as I know many of them were frustrated. We shall see what next Friday brings.

I don't have the ear of the players to know they were frustratrd.I am frustrated with a few of them ie Sneyd when from every kick off like he just lobs it to the opposition no variation what so ever like every free kick a ten year old could get more yardage I am exasperated with some of the so called tackling when the opposition walk in like they are crossing the Red Sea Yes it's all Rowleys fault. I am not an apologist for Rowley I just like even handedness. |

I think the frustration comes from games like the quarterfinals at hull kr a great chance to get to Wembley and build the club further and we were pathetic against a weakened team,it may sound silly but that really could have been us yesterday at Wembley but we didn’t perform and then battered at Wakefield and 10 points and 13 points up in last couple of home games and collapsed and yes referees made decisions but they were not good results!this year more than any it’s so wide open and we have not performed when last years form would probably have seen us win something probably sound abit silly but that’s the frustration!

I’ve said before the big difference this year is are pack it just doesn’t compete. Ormondroyd was top last year and we’re missing the graft and aggression from ET and big Sam. Hopefully we pick some wind up this year and get and get some good forwards in for next season and then there’s no reason we can’t challenge |

I am as frustrated as everyone else and yes it could have been us yesterday Yes it was diabolical v KR But I am not having it that the way home it's all the coaches fault nothing to do with the players. When I was growing up down Regent Rd in the fifties the great Billy Watkins who played for the Lance Todd team had pub and is son played football with us he take us in to look at all the pictures that adorned the walls of that great team I asked his dad what it like to play in the great team an about Lance Todd he would say a great man manager,but he would say a lot of the plays were the ideas of the team ie himself and Emlyn Jenkins and Jackie Feetham.It was the same with the great seventies side with Kenny Gill and Steve Nash And that happend other clubs, The great Alex Murphy didn't need a coach to work out moves for him. I have heard on this forum that all our moves have been sused, (Rowleys fault) well can't Snyed and our marquee player Croft think of anymore. |

So people imagine change will/should come/ is inevitable for a coach with 20 points in the bag, safety from relegation with a team that has lost it's best and crucial players at far too regular intervals and been unlucky in a few games .... when did Saints and Wigan attitudes take over the minds and bodies of SRD fans?
