As a fan you were always a stakeholder and should be happy to criticise where you think something is wrong.
I don't have a problem with criticism just some of the phrases, reasoning and omissions used to explain it, kilop.
Like the idea that Rowles is picking someone because of favouritism and leaving someone out for the same reason. Coaches look at all aspects of performance and would never make a detrimental move because they prefer some player's face, their livelihood depends on their decision making.
The point of "jobs for the boys" was about the recruitment, not about who is picked in the starting line up and yes I do think he has a narrow view on it and has decided to go with players he has worked with previously. Ignoring the fact that they are both too old, injury prone and not value for money. I wouldn't say he has favoured them over others on the match day squad, personally I don't think he's even had a chance to as they've both missed so many matches. Am I right in thinking there both on 2 year deals as well? Coaches are bound to favour certain players and sometimes they're bound to let that over influence their decision making it's only natural. I think those two players have had a bad spell of injury which is bound to colour both our assessment of them and Rowles to some extent. Their age is an interesting point given Lafai and Watkins but I would imagine they're a cheaper alternative on the whole.

Russ, Kilop surmised my point up well about Rowley seeming to favour players he’s worked with. Dixon and Sidlow etc. Yes we signed both on two year deals.

Their injury record and availability will not improve next year. Shocking decision to hand out 2 year deals and definitely not value for money on an already stretched budget

The point about both players is there would be no surprises Rowles knew exactly what he was getting and injuries have prevented them from proving either the posters or Rowley wrong.
Again they were probably a cheaper and what it says on the tin alternative to riskier unknown quantities.
Or who'd be a coach as it's only one up from being a ref when hindsight is the most widespread issue.

Dixon will come good At the moment, for me, Sidlow playing better than Dupree
I think our problem is we have too many of them with Gerrard, Hellewell Watkins but we’re on a v tight budget….so injuries will determine the outcome.
Interesting that Leigh have a couple in the forwards that we’ve rejected

On a more positive note I think we should be building and resourcing more ( paying them) our A Team, or whatever it is now. Putting resource into that and bringing in younger players , but with ability and potential, and bolstering the team with first team fringe players and those returning from injury would be a good move and shouldn’t cost the earth….could be our feeder club….and linked to the local six or eight community teams….and this could be paid for as separate 3ntity…just needs good planning.

The budget and injuries will always determine your season.
Leigh are suffering from growing confidence that only winning and consistency can give you.
