We have one more game this coming Sunday then almost a two weeks break which gives our players some recovery time. We have the following players injured - Watkins/Wright/Stone and then Gerrard/Sidlow/Olmondroyd/Addy looking like they are carrying knocks. Best case is we get Longstaff/Dixon/Greenwood back this week.
My question is a simple one why are every other club able to find loan and short term signings. Wakey have got about 7-8 in and just signed Griffin, KR 4-5 there are numerous examples. We seem happy to sit on our hands and make do. I think we've every right to be critical of the club post Wakey when they choose not to bring in loan players knowing we've lost two players to HIA's and have had 9 days to fix it before we played Leeds. I am not having that know one will loan us players that's rubbish as KR are in a similar position to us and they make loan signings happen. I'd take a SL fringe forward v Leigh if it gave one of our forwards time to recovery and miss a game to get 100% in the next 3 weeks.
So why are we not making loan or short terms signings when its clear we need them? If its a cash position then I am at a loss, we've just raised 365k and had our best two home gates of the season and have reduced the wage bill with two players leaving this year. A weeks loan is no more than 5k, the club need to act now and get options in for Leigh.
If we do not invest than I believe we will miss out on top 6, given our position 4 weeks ago that is unthinkable. Also the higher our league finish the better the IMG Grading and we want to build on last years performance.

So maybe build for next season, just a thought.

Perhaps the Club might like to answer that question MTR. Good rugby news from the coaches but from the Club , just seems hype really. ( I await a lambasting for mentioning the Club😉)

I think loan signings are a bad reflection on your squad and demotivating to those in the squad waiting their turn to have a crack at first team rugby. There was a lot of complaining that we were short of front rowers and too heavy in the second row. Now, we have second row injuries and start crying out for loan signings.
As for the money side, we don't know what is planned for the share initiative but we do know that we were unable to cover costs on the existing set up. Bigger crowds may still not cover the matchday costs - just make the deficit smaller??
We run with what we have - otherwise, what is the point of paying players in the squad for a full year if they are never going to be used? It is the quality of the depth of squad that keeps the 'bigger' clubs going through injuries.

Someone on the forum said that we were near the cap, Is it true or is it rubbish At the Owner's Event PK said we were spending £2.018 million and that excludes Sarginson who we knew was leaving.

If that is the case then we are spending a hell of a lot on a very small squad. We have signed squad players that might get a gig at perhaps 2 or 3 SL teams at best. We have a lot off contract at the end of the season. Time to change it up from a forward perspective although King needs to be retained.

We’re probably not in the financial position to If that is the case the club need to state that, at the moment they have had 2 x decent gates in and with another to come on Sunday. I think we will have Longstaff and Dixon, possibly Greenwood and Stone back for Sunday in 2nd Row however we are missing an powerful forward be it a Prop or 2nd Row. Sidlow and Gerrard have missed more games than they have played as has Dixon/Greenwood. Not going into the market and bolstering the forwards for the Leeds game knowing we had two HIA's was poor with 9 days between games as was putting Costello on the bench and not using him. Hellewell and Addy did us proud on Sunday however we should have had more options and if it means loans or signing a player for 1/3 of a season do it. If we are serious about Top 6 find a way to get cover in.

I agree with Chief above. I am all for bolstering the squad but with signings - not loanees. We still have more than a full squad of Registered players so not to utilise them in this tricky period would be wrong and quite insulting too. If we are down to 15, 16, 17 fit players then yes we would have to find a player or two but we are not in that position I don`t believe. We all don`t know the current fitness levels but assuming Rowls can name 21 for Leigh tells me that we have no need to go into the loan market.

Hopefully we make some good signings for next year so we can actually push for something. Unfortunately don’t think we have enough this year

My understanding is that certainly earlier in the season we were touch and go re paying the wages. I also understand that there is potentially better news on the horizon but nothing is certain.Doubtful it will impact this season but we can hope.
