Article suggesting West's are monitoring Brodie. Interestingly they state his contract is a 4 year contract with a 3 year option and that there is a clause allowing him to speak to NRL clubs, but there is a huge six figure transfer fee required.

I see this as a nothing story.
Struggling NRL side shortlist the current man of steel. As you would. Article just says a hefty fee would be in order if anything came of it.
So for me, it's just a RL journo filler. A player may or may not be a target. If he could be a target then they'll have to pay big money. He may not be viable and be just a suggestion. He may not actually be on any shortlist. Nothing happens.
This is the quality of journalism we live with. A click bait read offering nothing except a visit to a site flooded with adverts.

You'd have to be mad to go to Wests at the moment.
It also didn't work out for our other star Hastings at the same club, brought in because they were just as awful as they are now. Win/win for Salford tbh.

If you read what was actually said the link seems as tenuous as it gets.

Agent rubbing his hands together and RL journalists desperate for a story with any kind of legs.
I'm sure Brodie could be tempted back to the NRL though I'd hope he'd end up somwhere a bit better than Wests, sorry to any West fans who read this.

That release clause will be nonsense.
The club rejected 150k when he was in his final year of his last contract, to then buy out his current deal will be significantly more than that, I’d imagine closer to 400k

78k seems a little low for current man of steel.
He'd be barmy going back to Wests. The other NRL clubs last year would have been a better choice. I don't mind him returning home, after all, it's going to happen anyway but I'd like to see a significant fee coming our way.

It’s absolute nonsense, the club turned down 150k from St George last year they aren’t them going to tie him down to a long term deal with a release clause that’s half that value!

I think it might be as well if we ignore poor journalism looking for a home.

Sad to say it looks like Brodie going is a certainty His agent says he wants to go back to Australia.I assume at the end of the season.Release clause is £78k or Aus$150k. He rejected 2 offers last year before signing and several Super.League Clubs. What a very low buy out but then would he have signed for a higher one.

Although Aussie stars down on their luck/confidence are great to see and watch recover it will always come with the caveat they may want to return home. Keeping them for any truly lengthy period is also unlikely.
