They're fairly big in the world of boxing these days I believe. Any competition for Sky has to be a positive thing and we've already seen what a great job C4 are doing.

Whoever gets the rights the thing that needs to happen regardless is every game televised. The video ref issue is simply not a level playing field.

The video ref issue is simply not a level playing field. How did you pick it out from the crowd, Carny?
The real question is: Is there anything that is a level playing field in RL?

I saw the report on this and I don't remember any mention of the money offered, only the Sky offer was mentioned, 25 million/year which is a real insult at best.
I think Sky may be in decline as a broadcaster.
I had to check who TNT were and if they're offering more it'll be a straight swap from SKY sport to TNT.
I think RL's viewing figures have always been ignored and dismissed when they're really good on the whole.
Of course the IMG cut will have to come into the profit margins and costs at some point.

Although TNT Sports are not that well known on Europe From this Monday 18th july , They'll be the new name of BT Sport, They are owned by Warner Bros they are a big player In sport broadcasting in North-Central-South America. They do seem to have a lot of money available There financial director E.Fudd was quoted as saying " I Can pwomise RL FWans we have plenty of Cash" HIs assistant A Mr F.Leghorn backed up his Comment by stating "I say I say " Before E.Fudd attempted to shoot Mr Leghorn with his shotgun several times. They are both looking forward to visiting Castleford in November.

Looks like the same old, same old with far less money and a bit of distraction to say the least. IMG will have failed at the first hurdle of TV rights and money but look everyone we'll have a vid ref at every game!

It's a slightly misleading story (shock) While it's disappointing that the Championship coverage will end it's also down to the rights coming to an end rather than some shock withdrawing by Viaplay. I'm sure they'll get picked up by someone else.

It's good that a video ref bunker will become a thing though, but extremely underwhelmed if it is Sky that wins it as it looks like it will be.

The existing deal was 25 million with reports earlier today it was down at 20 million. How are Sky/Super League going to broadcast every game and get video refs involved at every game with less cash?

I read somewhere that every game will be available live online if not shown on SKY or presumably C4 if they get a look in with VAR officials. If that goes ahead presumably clubs will be able to show their games via Our League on a ‘pay as you go’ basis so here’s hoping that clubs get a cut of the monies raised. I’m not sure if that will fill the funding gap but it gives every club the ability to generate more cash than the current deal.

What does "30 day exclusive negotiating period" mean? It was in the Super League tweet. Does it mean that the RFL are negotiating only with Sky? If so, why don't we just tell Sky that we'll take whatever they want to give us? Let's see how far 10 bob a year stretches?
