50/50 for Salford v Wakey so far in the prediction league. It would be typical Safford, wouldn't it?
We should have too much for this Wakey team.
Sio looked fine at FB the other day, though it limits our third man our the back option but we don't need to score a load of points to beat Wakey, surely? I thought Atkin was our best player against Wigan too. If we have top 6 aspirations we cannot be getting beat when they have so many players out, including the best C (Langi), best W and try scorer (Murphy), their talisman (Lino, and three key forwards, Whitbread, Tanginoa, and Proctor).
It's weird that two weeks ago we were talking about being in with a shout of the CC and going second in the league to 'can we beat a depleted Wakey side'?

Well wakey won a match and we got some key Injuries. Therefore wakey proved that if u don't turn up they are capable of beating a SL team. Yes we should win comfortablely, however let's not get to cock sure about stuff yet as we have a thin squad and haven't earnt the right to be anything yet. |

Injuries aside, we have not been good for a few weeks. When I say this it is more about our mental approach or attitude over the last few weeks. It's been sloppy. I don't know if it's a fatigue thing or whether it's just a blip that inevitably happens throughout a season. It's been a decent first half of the season so far, but this drop in form is coming at the all important start to the run in to the play-offs. Yes, Wakey are battered and bruised but they are fighting for their existence like a wounded animal. They couldn't have played us at a more opportune time. |

This is a must win and there can be no excuses, we're playing the worst team in the league who's attack is dire with ten of their better players missing. The pressure/expectation is on Salford and rightly so, winning is a habit. |

I think this is a really tough game for us.
On paper we should win but the Wigan game was a good pointer as to where we are without most of our spine.
We lacked any real spark against Wigan.Not through lack of effort but simply missed the extra that we get from Ackers,Croft and Brierley on the attack.
We have to go and play almost faultless rugby.Kick well,play for territory to create pressure.
I actually thought Wigan were nothing special against us.They played no risk,high percentage rugby and caught us out with kicks and not much flair.
Wakey are poor but still a threat.We have to complete high to win.

If our kicking game is anything like the last two weeks we could be in for a poor result. But, Rowley recognised that's where we lost the game against Wigan. Their last tackle plays left them in better field position. I'm sure he's had Sneyd work on that this week. It's not rocket science. You know you're the last play kicker. When your own player is getting tackled on the fifth, as you get yourself into position, you look up to see where the space is and aim there. If you're closer to their line then get the high ball as close to their line as you can or grubber it to the in-goal.

This is not hard tonight play five props (3 on the bench plus Addy) and grind out a win. We’ve more players available, start steady and build. Going and trying to play Rowley ball in poor form is just stupid. Learn from last weeks mistakes.

Rowley will not go against his principles so we will continue to play our style and it should be enough. Could do with weather improving a bit |
