Ye fair point we were top today. Big issue is we lack depth which we all know is due to funds so it is what it is

Felt like a massive missed opportunity to put on a display today to encourage people to keep coming.

We had a few key players missing pre-match We lost out full-back in the 1st half We made several basic errors and shot ourselves in the foot We kicked poorly We got the rough end of the refereeing decisions Wigan bossed the forwards but didn't create loads and took pretty much all the chances they got
Have I missed anything?

Nope, apart from "We got the rough end of the refereeing decisions" They are a better team than us and just squeezed the life out of us. All the top teams in the league use their pack to do this and we don't have the power to fight back. Yet:)

It was kinda written in the stars today.
We are pretty dreadful at home, and have been for a while. Lots of new fans encouraged, performance is poor. Croft, Ackers, and then Brierley all out is a tall order. Wigan in form.
We have put all our eggs in one basket this year with Croft being the player the team is built around and if he doesn't feature we should expect to be beaten in all honesty. I'm not overly fussed about the result today as it was inevitable and it does highlight our shortcomings as a team. Top four sides may have on and off days, but they rarely make consistently dumb errors. We can accept errors based off fast attacking plays, but the kind of errors we make are usually very poor avoidable ones. We really need to get back to square one before the morale rot sets in after a couple of dog egg performances.
As it stands, teams like Wigan, Saints, Catalans, and even Leigh are managing to click their performances and get important results where we find it hard to get over the mental block we seem to have.

Yeh pretty much, kicking game was way off today, and it felt like wigan were offside every set. That said I don’t think we slowed ptb down well at all and they did, but Farrell was offside every single time. That or he’s as fast as Usain Bolt It was disappointing especially with the big crowd but I don’t think it was as bad as people make out, the effort was there, missing Ackers Croft and then Brierley was going to be massive. As a positive I thought the whole event was brilliant, pre game was really good built a great atmosphere. Would be good if this wasn’t a one off

Kicking game wasn't just off today, it's been poor all season. We won't win the big games the way we are kicking. Wigan beat us easy today. We threw away leads at Saints, Wigan, and Warrington.

We just don’t have the strength in depth. Wigan were always in control. They just stepped up a gear second half. Yes kicking game was awful and we were disjointed all over the park. We are desperate for decent forwards. For the size of King and the effort of Dupree what have we got. What’s Ormondroyd doing. For me he is stealing a living. If he is not good enough then get rid. Overall what I expected but without 1 6 & 9 we will really struggle. Some of that play today was dire.

Can't blame strength in depth when we are knocking on spending the cap. Shocking kicking game today.

This is are biggest problem for me king and dupree are better of the bench we literally have no other props, sidlow is solid but nothing special and ormondroyd has been of all year. The depth in are pack was poor to begin with so we just can’t afford any injuries or players not playing well.

Kicking game today was very very poor. Worst of the season in my view.
I am also not sure we had a specific game plan. If we did we definitely didn’t execute it. If we did have no idea what it was.
Normally even when we lose you can see what we were trying to do and can see the areas we were targeting but not today. We played much more direct in the first half with less lateral movement which seemed to be working in terms of making fewer errors but meant we made few yards. We seemed to be have success down our left with Stone and Lafai making metres every time but we didn’t seem to have a plan to kept doing it. And we had no idea what to do on last plays all game. No real attempt to build pressure or keep them in their half. Can’t remember the last time we gave Field 20m space every time he caught the ball.
Wigan game plan was very simple and effective. Kick early. Keep us in our half and capitalise on the errors everyone knows we will make. Smiths kicking game was excellent. At 6-4 up we should have gone on to dominate the game but never did.
Was always a big ask with ackers and Croft missing, then losing Brierley. But not sure the loss can be attributed to that. Borouh had his best game for us. Atkin had some very good moments. Sio didn’t put a foot wrong. But with less chance of scoring from deep we needed to try and squeeze Wigan and never did

Wigan played well and as said elsewhere controlled the game. We lose key players and it will always be tough given the make up of our squad. Don't be despondent as it has been a good season and we have been in the top half of the table without being at our best.
I agree the kicking game has not been great but other teams seemed to have worked us out. We need some variation so not to be predictable.
