I'm glad we haven't caved in at the first opportunity and sold Dupree, because it sends a defient message to other clubs and the player's agents that Salford are not the 'selling club' we used to be. Sell Dupree now and other clubs/agents will soon come knockin up our other assets. However, it remains to be seen what Dupree, Harris, Wigan and KR will do next, perhaps Dupree will be told to take his bat home and that we couldn't tolerate. To say you're not a selling club and then sell a player isn't a good look whatever the benefits might come from the transfer.
It's most likely that this will be put aside until the end of the season so that if Tyler departs the number of incoming signings will nsend a completely differnet message.
Wigan and HKR willl be open about their continuing interest I suspect, but agents are sneaky underhand chancers so who knows what 'arris will be up to!
Sports agents are one lower on the rung from the estate variety just to be clear.

Have to balance 'not being a selling club' with being 'sustainable'. Principles dont pay the bills.
It will take time to get income up to the levels we need but we are in the right direction it seems.

Yes that word Balance….Well that’s the job of the new Board unless Rosler collects his £1 a day per person.
Going to be interesting to see how the Board develops, hopefully not the same old ( ie the old Board, whoever they were) or just enthusiasts but people who’ve been there and done it and can bring a new vigour to the Club
Interesting times to see how the jockeying for position/ control occurs and how people are judged to be able to contribute…..crucial times….as shareholders we hopefully now will have transparency….and getting away from the closed Community Club environment of the past
BUT whoever said it…this is not now a TD post

Have to balance 'not being a selling club' with being 'sustainable'. Principles dont pay the bills. The balance, given all the different kinds of players in this, is between looking like a selling club or a club that's in trouble
which is much the same thing.
Some of the coverage leads things to look that way and agents like to take advantage of this kind of situation as well as provide column inches for poor journalism but increasing the dosh involved.
It is true that not everyone can afford principles which begs the question why the conservative party doesn't have any given how well off they are?

I had a other thought on Tyler as I do think there could be movement in the off-season. I. Was thinking, at which point in the year do Wakey accept they are going down? When they do, how about offering a fee for Eseh and Whitbread (or Tanginoa)? It wouldn't be a huge fee since they'll be gone for nothing at the end of their year. We'd bring in young two props - Eseh (19) and Whitbread (25) - and profit for losing one young prop. I'd suggest bringing in all three players but Whitbread and Tanginoa are both non-fed trained and we only have one spot - though we could potentially re-register Wright for the season.

Tyler wants to stay and unless the situation changes dramatically he won’t be going anywhere. Any players coming in would be because Rowls is strengthening the squad👍

Has he withdrew his request then? Good news if he has refocused and commited to being a part of what we are doing.

As these things tend to go I think there will be an agreement in place to, "give is this season" amd then go with our blessing.

Seems to me there may have been an issue somewhere or Harris has been badly advising another client. Something seems to have changed quite quickly though. Maybe it was the great reaction Salford fans gave him. Maybe an internal issue was sorted. Maybe he realised Harris doesn't have his best interests at heart. Who knows?
For a young fella with a lot of spotlight and pressure on him, he's going about his business pretty well at the moment. I think Rowley publicly backing him didn't do any harm either.

In Rowls/King/Bleasey we trust.👹
As far as I'm concerned the matter is over & done if Dupree is 100% committed to the cause. There was a huge negative reaction when the initial news broke (quite rightly although some was way over the top) but IMO it's been handled brilliantly by the club and there's obviously been a few heart to hearts taking place behind closed doors which seem to have smoothed things over for now.
I honestly believe Rowls is the man to get the best out of any player as we've seen what he's managed to achieve with a number of so-called journeymen/rejects within our squad. I'm really excited to see what he can do over the next few years if we can kick on and embed ourselves as regular play-off/CC contenders.
