I must admit, I'm concerned by our home form going into this game. And, if you take away the Hull game we are only averaging 17 points per game.

Westerman missing for them is massive, I am little concerned about our defence following the Leigh game especially at marker, we also need to defend against Fonua and Fairamo - we cannot have Cross and Costello running at of the line like headless chickens it gifts opportunity to teams and Cas have Widdop who is a smart player. The defence needs to be solid and in unison. The plus is they have found points hard to come by, the better teams in the league have got on top after 30 mins.
Not sure Watts is fit for them.
We need to defend hard for the first 15 mins then go for it. I'd go with:

Sio
Cross
Costello
Burgess
Croft
Syned
Dupree
Ackers
Olmondroyd
Watkins
Wright
Partington
King / Dixon / Stone / Atkin

Strong starting 17 for Salford tonight and no Fonua for Cas. Great chance to get on a winning run tonight.

Cracking try! I was beginning to think we might get nilled the way that half was going. So much possession near their line.
Shout out to Stone for saving a try too.
I've been critical of our kicking on last tackle this year. I think we've been awful. So, I decided to track our last tackles on my notes in the first half.
1) Sneyd: no pressure, poor kick, start on their 30m
2) Pass to King
3) Sneyd: Kick, they stick leg out, back to six for us
4) Sneyd: poor chip, no chance for our players, easy cath for Miller - 7 tackle set
5) Sneyd: Poor kick - not deep enough again. Didn't travel far.
6) Croft: Deeper kick, lands right on the line but not high enough to allow the chase to get there. 7 tackle set.
7) Croft; finally something different. Grubber but too strong.
8) Sneyd: Looked lost. Ends up kicking through for himself.
9) First one we've been able to properly challenge and they knock-on. Finally something. But even if we caught the ball we were still 8m short of the line.
I've definitely missed a few through going to the toilet, talking, and getting a drink.
I also tried to keep an eye on six-agains. I think we've had three given to us? and all of them were on tackle one... I think teams are being coached to take advantage of it defensively. We should adopt the Oz rule of a penalty in your own 40m. Personally, I think if it's within the 30m on either end it should be a full penalty. Have six-agains only in the middle of the field between the 30 - 30.
Oh, and Cross really needs to learn some patience and that try doesn't happen 🤦
