That’s just a few who are all 6,4 or bigger and round the 18stone mark. Now I agrees with what you say to a extent about size not being everything but to disregard size is just silly.

Your right there conditions will definitely play a big part. For me if we can can handle there middles believe are back are more then capable of putting some points away.

Now that's over... I don't know where our home game performances are coming from but it's chalk and cheese with our away form.

If we can bring our away form to all the games and keep our 17 fit then I still fancy us to sneak 6th, maybe 5th and cause anyone trouble on our day. Our kicking game needs a major injection of quality and we need to bring that energy and enthusiasm from the away games each week.

Anyway, back to the squad and salary cap from earlier in the thread (I've not been in for a few days). We have no money yet are spending over the odds on what we have.

King says we're near £2 million on wages (I'm assuming all wages so, 27 players and not the cap which is only 25 players) and Croft is a marquee palyer, so let's say we spend £2 million and Croft is earning 200k. That leaves £1.8 million. We have 26 players excluding Croft, so that almost £70k per player, which I think I quite a lot and some of our guys should not be close.

Costello and Borough came from academies and have never been first team players so shouldn't be on much (£30k?). Longstaff is still on his contract with Warrington which again will be coming from the youth team, so £30k or less, likely less. Hallewell is a career championship palyer, so too are Sidlow and Addy, Stone too, and even Williams none of them should be on big bucks or close to £70k. Atkin, Cross and Gerrard have also been championship players throughout their careers and are on their initial contracts with us, so again shouldn't be close to £70k. That's 11 out of 26 players already. Greenwood and Lannon have never been close to above average SL players who start week in and week ou, so if they are also aboce £35-40k. That's 13 of 26 players. Dixon is in the same category, since leaving us after his first stint he's been a championship palyer at Leigh, Toronto and Tolouse, so again, £40k tops, surely? That's 14 of 26 players.

That leaves 12 players and an averag of just over £100k for each. Wright? No way is he on that, he came over as a player who didn't get in the NRL first-grade, except in injury situations. Even if he is on £50-60k that elave a fair bit on the bank. Ormonroyd? Can't see him being on anything above £60k or so. Do you reckon that any of the following are on or worth £100k... Brierley (who I think is a bottom 4/5 FB in the league), Sneyd (not wanted when he signed for us), King? Dupree (even with his new deal, £30k above average? Watkins will be. Maybe Lafai on his new deal, but he's right up there with other centres in the league. Is Ackers on £100k after half a good season? Burgess? Sio? Partington? I don't see anyone besides Watkins, Croft and Lafai on £100k or more. Burgess inomagine is close, Sio too. Ackers might be close after a new contract but it shouldn't be that big without a larger sample of work.

From what I can see, we must be paying a lot of very average player far too much if we are spending almost £2 million. As good as we can be on our day, I just don't see this as a £2 million squad and we'd be far poorer under a different coach.
