I sent the below email to Salford Council to the City Mayor's office - citymayor@salford.gov.uk - If you have five mins to spare, please email the Council - the time to show support to Seb Gerrard and our club is now, we need to all get behind this. Dear City Mayor, I am emailing you about the future of the AJ Bell Stadium which has been on-going for some time. This facility plays an incredibly important role in our community and the stadium must continue to be used for the benefit of the city, our communities and our sports clubs. Over the past year the stadium has been subject to takeover bids with the discussions on-going, I appreciate that these negotiations are confidential with the Council and various stakeholders at this time, however it is reported that two purchase bids have been submitted to the Stadium Management Company and Council which are under consideration. The purpose of this email is to illustrate the strength of feeling around the future of the AJ Bell stadium and to highlight how integral Salford Red Devils are to the communities that make Salford the amazing city it is. As a Salford citizen I support any parties willing to invest and ensure that Salford Red Devils remain at the AJ Bell stadium with a focus on the stadiums benefit to the Salford community not just private businesses. The club must remain at their existing ground in order to prosper and grow, building on the excellent community links already in-place, ensuring a successful future for the Salford Red Devils and continued positive social impact within our city (As demonstrated by Salford Red Devils 2022 Social Impact Report). Please refer to the Change.Org e-petition (below) from Salford Red Devils requesting that Salford City Council ensure the Rugby League Club remains in Salford (AJ Bell Stadium) and that the AJ Bell is a Community Stadium, this petition has now achieved well over 11,100 signatures making a massive statement to Salford City Council from the community. www.change.org/p/salford-council-the-aj-bell-stadium-must-stay-for-the-community-of-salford Please make reference to my feedback in respect of any future decisions on the AJ Bell stadium and Salford Red Devils, this issue and outcome matters to many people across our city. Regards XXXXXXXXXXXX "Thank you for your correspondence which will receive attention at the earliest opportunity." back from't mayor will let you know if I hear anymore Kind regards Paul

To lose our ground to the Sharks is unthinkable, a team from outside the city with no community links.

Totally agree about continually making the point. Besides the Community issues our main point is that with IMG now developing RL, that without the AJ we will no longer have a place in Super League.
Is there anybody with links to the Press?

Not me, although I'd urge our Supporters Trust to tweet Gary Carter or George Riley, as well as trying the local outlets to generate focus on this issue.

Did anyone attend the Club 13 event yesterday? I normally do but had work in London. Paul King normally gives a business update on the Club and the ground situation which they await an outcome around.

Interesting, why doesn’t the Club give an update to the supporters?

Agreed but sometimes it is as simple as we're still awaiting a decision to be approved by the council.

Just watched the Class of 92, Neville at ML trying to sell the AJ to the fans with Paul King stood by his side. What is the position of th3 Club?
Neville then spends the time in various episodes saying how great the AJ is and how awful ML….amazing. What is really going on?

I'd expect the club to be in support of remaining at the AJ Bell with all the changes coming. If the club think that Moor Lane can be fully redeveloped than think again, FC would have done it by now. But to your point it is in the clubs interest to state their preference rather than accept whatever decision is made, it only adds value to Gerrards bid and the fans voices.

If you Google: Class of 92, Season 5 Episode 1 (Sky) It’s the latest lot so I assume it’s the 22/23 season. It’ll say on there probably
Yes when you watch some of the Episodes with Neville visiting the AJ, talking to the Board and the fans he makes it very clear that Moor Lane is what it presently is and can’t get any better….in fact it’s his main point. Funny his Board don’t seem that keen. Might be worth sending a copy to the Mayor to show what ML is.

How come King is on the show? Is it the AJ Bell thing? Assuming this was all filmed prior to Neville stepping down.
Deffo agree with the sharing with the Council, they've said to our club that Moor Lane has redevelopment potential, yet Neville says its crap.

What we all have to remember in this is that, everyone is economical with the truth, in order to get what they want.
