Oh ye of little faith😉 Russ I can’t see any reason why we can’t be as big as Saints, over time. But I’m sure you’ll come up with hundreds There is no reason why we can't be as big as any club in the game JJR but that will not come into the criteria decision making.
I think you might need to look at how much I agreed with you over these few posts JJR.
The time it takes to become one of the haves is because the haves dominate, and they will only change the how and the why if they'll still have it afterwards; it's basic conservative economics.

Conservative economics, wow; beyond me Russ.
I think we just have to wait and see what the criteria are mate. But crowds, performance on the field, financial stability and ground amenities seem obvious ones.

Well on crowds we're found wanting generally. Financial stability is a funny one because most clubs are up the Swanee in that respect. The ground amenities will as you said, depend on which stadium we're at. Performance on the field is fine but I'll bet the house that no help will be recieved by those who finish last and next to bottom to improve.

What may or may not happen in the future does not matter right now, all that matters is we get behind Seb Gerrard and voice our position to the council. We need to stay at the AJ Bell.

Whilst out on Saturday I was chatting to some Salford FC fans about the AJ Bell and their thoughts on the AJ Bell move was that it was pointless given the number of fans it does not make any sense. Wonder if Salford Council have asked our fellow Salfordians at FC for their opinion rather than just listening to Neville. Guessing not the Labour council will love any affiliation with a supposed 'Man of the People' God forbid they listen to their tax-payers logic - the money that funds their organisation.

Sadly to me it just seems it’s Neville on an ego trip. Bury, Wigan, Bolton, Rochdale etc all been in trouble. When he gets fed up with it I fear for the Club.

Without wishing to derail this to much, can somebody refresh my memory as to why we hate Gary Neville, and how he's the bad guy. Just so I know why I'm outraged?

Because some people are knobs unfortunately.👍 Sale are the main issue with the AJ Bell, not Salford City. Neville's hand was forced by Sale making a bid for the stadium and as a result he was forced into joining the bidding race (or whatever you want to call it). Salford City are in no position to move to the AJ Bell from a fan perspective but they would certainly maximise the corporate side of the ground etc. If (and it's a big if) Salford City get promoted then they need to meet league requirements for their ground (as we do with Super League). Moor Lane won't do that and there aren't any other options for building/buying a stadium within Salford. We've been f*cked over by Sale having this 25 year lease and having an option to purchase the stadium. People can blame Neville all they like but they're barking up the wrong tree.

You're not a fan so I fail to see why it would affect you in any way at all. Neville and his co owners (as he's not sole owner people seem to forget) wanted to buy Salford because each of them has an affinity to the city having spent a large proportion of their life training, living or (in Scholesy's case) being born here. It's not their responsibility to save other local clubs who have financial issues.🤷♂️ And if, and again it's a big if, the Co92 & Peter Lim ever "get bored" the club will probably just go back into non-league football. It has enough long-standing fans to ensure that it'll survive at whatever level it operates.👍

Think we have to let the Mayor MPs Councillors know that with IMG on board we’ll never be a Cat A club and we’ll eventually lose SL status because of those teams with good stadia…Leigh Widnes York Toulouse etc
The more I think about it, the more critical this decision is. Thought th3 Club might air it.

I have told the council this JJR, that IMG has massive implications for Salford Reds if we leave the stadium. They said they'd approach the RFL.
If the Council have told King or the club that they will help Salford redevelop Moor Lane (If we go there) its bullshit, never going to happen, FC have tried and failed hence Neville wants out.
The club must be vocal about this.
In other news nothing from Gerrard on Twitter I guess he is waiting on a decision.

The more I think about it, the more critical this decision is. Very true JJR.
A lot depends on what the council value more the history and culture of Salford or the prestige yawn can bring to the place.
IMG and this decision will bring on the end game if it goes in the wrong direction.
The trouble with RL is that once the wheels fall off that's more or less it forever.
The comebacks and progression clubs, if and when they're allowed to happen, will be the ones with modern stadia as you pointed out.

The issue will be that the Club will never get a stadium of the right level for SL ML would be the smallest with least facilities…good Championship ground…is that th3 aim of the Board?

No news is good news I suppose. But no point speculating on what the Club are doing or not doing, they are hardly going to have a pop at the Council on Twitter!
Agree though that the move to ML will be a very bad move and kill off any Cat A chances. The Club waited donkeys years for planning permission and the ground was built to secure the long term future of the Club. Would be a travesty to be thrown into a ground far worse than the Willows and maybe worse than Belle Vue and Wheldon Road.
