Agree Marshall and Orr are serving up tripe. The comparisons between this and last year are only on number of matches lost at this stage. At least last year we were able to string a few passes together. The attack as it stands is none existent and Leigh/Wakefield are scoring more points than us which is in itself alarming.

Well that's that out of the way at least...
I take onboard what others have said about team inheritance, new coaches, etc etc. Watson did just as bad, and so on. They are fair points, but they are maybe not taking onboard the factors that indicate some serious concerns.
We have the biggest squad we've ever had. The strongest set of backs, as a unit, that we've ever had. A decent set of young forwards with good seasoned leaders. A good mix of younger players and experience. A coach that has learned under the best in SL, and an assistant that knows the game inside out.
Now, we can all sit and say that these things need time to gel, we've been unlucky with ref calls (When has it been any other way) and basically giving them a free pass, but if we weigh up those negatives we should have enough from the positives above to be lifting ourselves out of our poor form. We are not doing that. We are not progressing, we are stagnating even at this stage.
If we as fans search for the possible answers there comes a time where we need to stop making those excuses and start asking the tougher questions.
That time should start right now. The bedding-in period has passed. This team should be performing way better than it currently is. It's not the results, it's the structure or lack of, it's the lacklustre attack and attitude, it's the lack of any progress on any front that should be worrying everyone. It's okay to critique your team and still want the best from them. I think it's time.

Yes I agree we have scored less points than Leigh and Wakefield but we still look above them in the table having only played one team out of the top 6 and narrowly got beaten in the Cup. RM and even Watson said the first thing to get right ( esp with a new set of guys, he'd never trained before) was the D and against Saints, having lost one key member of the spine in the first few minutes. I do think our attack now needs to function but to go on Saturday with the intent of 'having a go at RM' in the first live match we can go to seems ridiculous. We're supporters so let's help the team and support. To me yesterday our attack was nullified by a ref who allowed continual offside at the ptb and lying on; the main thing wrong with our game in my view
I'll be going to enjoy it.

The test isn’t to look at who’s worse than us ! We’ve come further than that. No slagging off the coach at our first live home match. Our defence is a real plus so he can concentrate on attack. Tui is unstructured, mostly, but Brown gives us the organisation. Before the season started I didn’t think that Sarginson would be a talking point. His enthusiasm and covering ability is tremendous. His link up play isn’t. If you’ve noticed,he gives a ‘no look’ pass which is why we bombed 2 tries when they intercepted. I don’t think he’ll change full back but, until he does, our attack will be toothless.

It’s nothing to do with the ref , we are poor in attack . But guess what ? I reckon we’ll beat Wigan on Saturday . Heads up and crack on

I didn't expect anything from last night or the next 2 games so in one respect not disappointed,we are not getting anything off the referee's that's not going to change, refereeing is sub standard at best, especially where we are concerned. We are in a relegation scrap I will judge Marshall against the teams in that scrap with us.

I'd like to see Escare given another opportunity because he's an exerienced fullback that knows what lines to run, how to link in the line and where to be when a player makes a break. Sarginson is a solid hard working centre and that's where he should be playing. There needs to be more spark in our attack and Escare has the pace and footwork to offer more of an attacking threat. Another key area we are struggling with is hooker because Ackers has shown promise but sadly he's missed a lot of minutes and the only other option we have is playing players out of position. I don't see Addy, Patten or Atkin as SL hookers. Personally I think it's unforgivable that the club only signed one recognised number 9 especially considering Joey Lussick was always going to be a huge loss. The squad looks unbalanced to me with too many wingers and centres but lacking in the key spine areas which is so crucial. Losing Evalds, Lussick and Flanagan has really hurt us and I think it's negatively affected Tui because his passing has been woeful for a halfback and Brown probably should have retired last year. Perhaps now is the time to give Dec Patten a run in the team.

Re Sarge @ Full Back
Basically a full back - in attack - has to chime into the line to make that extra man - just like GOB did years ago or even as Evalds did last night v HKR (watch the video)
Sarge is an out and out centre and Must return there. Escare at FB can do the linking when needed and immediately our attack will improve.
As for booing Marshall - some sad people about. Do you think for one second that will help? Unless the doubters have the funds to pay him & Danny off then get behind him and add constructive criticism. Bleasey & Paul King had a lengthy interview process so I for one back their long term decision.

In fairness to the new coaching team we lost several key players and the replacements weren't actually the choice of Marshall. I'd imagine he now knows exactly what he needs going forward, a one, another nine, a seven, another prop and a ball playing organising thirteen. This season is now all about trying to build and then hopefully producing something much better in 2022.

Purposely waited until now before posting. we were still in at at half time, despite losing Ackers so early. We were pressing well early in the second half but Saints managed to break away and score. Our defence, even towards the end when the game was gone still looked committed but another 80 minutes without scoring is a concern.

Marshall took the job with is eyes wide open,so he is not above criticism, anybody going to the Wigan game with a view to getting on his back, stay away.because this team needs all the help it can get.

We need the spark of a Jackson Hastings type player, someone who leads by example and isn’t afraid to kick some arses. Great defence or not we are still being beaten.

Was the Sarginson incident when he was penalised for a contact with Lomax after passing? Really couldn’t understand that decision at the time but they didn’t replay it I don’t think.
Have a feeling that was in the first half?? The one he’s been banned for was in the 65th minute. So if not that one, I missed it completely
