Lannon is nowhere near Superleague standard imo. He’s like a player we would have in the bad old days, a penalty machine. Shouldn’t be back in the team unless we are short of bodies I’m just not buying this wholesale condemnation of Lannon. He plays very big minutes so gives more penalties than others. His stats must be right up there. If we have better second rowers, fit, then fine but let’s not hang the lad out to dry

A couple of bad performances and he's now the worst player ever to put the shirt on Also agree with other post that I can't see Patton over Brown. Browns our general and will be straight back in. Patton did okay against Widnes but hardly the bloody savour ever ones on about. Stoll early days

Lannon an enigma, a Jones type player, good games poor games. Not had a good start to the season but on a 3 year contract? Might be carrying a knock.
So get him fit, increase his size and speed and train him not to give penalties away. Agree with BR, potential is there, puts in a big shift so get him up to speed. Just hope as he's been awarded a longer contract that he isn't resting on it.
Its been said Marshall is about defence initially, so I assume Escare and Atkin working on tackling (be good if he can get Atkin tackling like Fages) and improving skill sets... Lannon timing etc
Be really interesting to see how they all develop and we have a bit of time because of the squad size.
Work in progress with them all me thinks.

Escare’s support play is exactly what we have been missing, Patton is a better General than Brown. I think you'll find Patten is a far better General than Patton.😉 Luke Patten - Wikipedia en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_PattenCouple of things from yesterday's game. Ormondroyd was outstanding (ok it's only Widnes) and the forwards all put a good shift in. As already mentioned, Escare seems to have lost a yard of pace so hopefully that's more to do with fitness levels than a permanent issue. Seeing as his pace is his biggest asset that would be a massive loss as once he breaks the line normally there's no catching him. The one worry for me was the Williams/Costello LHS combo defending kicks. Widnes must have won 4 or 5 high kicks/restarts against those 2 and other teams will target it. Pretty sure Wikipedia must be wrong when it lists Costello as 6'1 as he looks about 5'9 to me!

Interesting that most of the questions seem to be about the team on the field who performed when asked.

And the lack of pace all round but it's getting better; players beginning to gel...and the sun's shining.

No way on earth can judgements be made about players 3 games into a new season with a new coach half a new team and a runaway victory against a part time team. As has been pointed out we lost 6 of our first 7 games last season and we ended up playing at Wembley for the first time in 51 years. Please enjoy the matches but don’t write off players or indeed make players into something they may not be.

And isn't it pleasant on One League and the Beeb not having to listen to the Chuckle Brothers I thought Leon Price was brilliant. So refreshing to hear a pundit who knows what he’s talking about and interesting as well. I take it back. Just watching the Huddersfield v Leigh game hoping for a Huddersfield defeat(sad I know) and Eorl Crabtree is commentating. Horrendous.

Personally I Can't get to enthusiastic about yesterday I can't see us winning it,yes the win was timely if for nothing more than moral I am more interested in our league form, and hope we get a win at weekend If someone came down from on high and said you can win the cup or stay up how would the vote go,Also if my mind not playing tricks, their was a song about Charlie Brown I think was 1959,

SL teams are often on a hiding to nothing when they play lower league clubs. Play well, and it was expected. Play bad, and it's the end of the world. Such is life. It will have been a good bonding experience for the lads if nothing else. Morale and game time is all these days, and it will do us good on that score. I'm under no illusions as to the task next week and I don't think the team will be either. It was a positive victory and that's that. What is important is to get some valuable points in the league at this early stage so as not to start getting stage fright early. Catalan look good, and I think it will be a tough act for us. But a more positive performance would mean we're heading in the right direction.

"Try reading it and maybe you might get the point." "That isn't what he said." Mmmm! Well you could judge it, but you'd be foolish to do so as three games into a season is not reflective of what will happen come the end of the season. You could play the pedantic wordplay card, as is your right to do so, but this would just be a negative look. As always, Russ, I await your cryptic response with baited breath.
