Bloody hell you lot have lost faith pretty quickly.😂
After the Wigan friendly win we were all super duper positive and in agreement that we have our best squad of the SL era and a young, hungry coach with great credentials. The perfect fit for both parties.
And now a couple of defeats later we're facing a long, hard season and in a dogfight with the Leythers to avoid the wooden spoon.😁
We'll beat Widnes comfortably and the players and new combinations will start to settle down and take shape. And then you can all thank me for talking you down off the Weaste Road motorway bridge.👍

Whilst I agree that we're at the beginning of this new chapter, the disappointment for most fans was with the complete lack of cohesion which was evident last Saturday. We've had months to prepare given the pre season this year - we look devoid of any ideas and Leigh have looked more enthusiastic - they've had only a couple of months to prepare.
For me the next two games are must win, would love to see Patton get a shot and Lussick, Pauli and Roberts back playing. I do not believe that a second row of Livett and Lannon has enough strike especially when Olmondroyd and Wells are on the bench. Also I pray we see a specialist full back playing v Widnes.

That’s ,for me ,the most worrying aspect. Sarge isn’t a bloody full back and,if we can all see that, why can’t the coaching team. But,we could all be wrong, maybe they’re seeing something that we can’t. Agree totally re second row,we’re missing Greenwood and, failing that, we need to find the right role for Livett who’s a class player. Has Livett ever played full back ? 😉

It's a marathon not a sprint evidently with a new coach who's trying to figure out his combinations against two teams who'll probably be in the top 4 come end of the season. I'd only properly worry if we played that way against teams like Kr, wakey and leigh.

Don't think Livett has played at full back previously. Though we have Escare, Costello and at a Push Williams or Sio can cover.

You can definitely see him on crutches being out jumped by Jack Owens in the 79th minute

May be we should be recalling Chamberlain from his loan at London? Though perhaps not having seen a few highlights from their thrashing at Halifax last weekend!

May be we should be recalling Chamberlain from his loan at London? Though perhaps not having seen a few highlights from their thrashing at Halifax last weekend! He still wouldn't get anywhere near the match day squad even with Sarge & Burgess out. We've still got Escare, Costello, Inu, Sio, Watkins, Williams, Kear to cover the backline. Escare needs a run on Saturday and let's see how he goes. Costello in the centres for me if he's fit.

Need to beat Widnes and win with a good score not a scrappy 6-4 or such like. My biggest disappointment is seeing what I regard as the best squad Salford have had for many years looking so clueless. Widnes is a must win lose that and alarm bells will be ringing.

My biggest disappointment is seeing what I regard as the best squad Salford have had for many years looking so clueless. I think if you can stay optimistic in the face of that performance you're brilliant, but many of those same people often argue for people to be realistic.
I agree with you prestwich a squad like that has no right to be so poor. Having an off day because you're outplayed is nothing like what we saw.
I'm avoiding the Widnes game.

Widnes can only announce 20 man squad, injuries and Covid according to their site. Any news on our squad or is it still a secret to be revealed by the MEN?
