Lets hope we can retain Both Browns & Rowley and build again. I'm sure Greg Brown will be gone along with him. Which isn't great. Brown was also previously at Hudds before us, so it might well be a possibility.

If he had a Contract till the End of 2021 I hope and assume we'll be financially Compensated, Only one reason he's left Money. If he's still at Huddersfield in 18 months. I'll be massively surprised. Also What does this mean regarding Seb Ikahihifo. Probably end up back at the John Smiths Empty Echo stadium.

Amazing, you've got to wonder what made him go. Were the promises that were made to him just false hopes. I think he's a man of integrity, a true Salfordian and probably reached the end of his tether. How many more players could he stand to lose, how many new teams did he have to build? I honestly thank him for sticking it out so long. I bet he's taken his team with him as well. We'll be lucky to survive next year.

Lets hope we can retain Both Browns & Rowley and build again. It'll be hard to keep hold of Greg Brown He lives in Halifax and his Gym is there as well.

I did not think we would lose him this coming season and not to Hudds.
Thanks for everything you have done for us Ian and best wishes.

Next season would have been the first time in years that the club didn't need to plan for a complete reshuffle of key players. We're actually retaining quite a lot of this current squad. As for integrity, well I don't know the man or his reasons, but after putting out a positive video about next season and extending his contract until 2022 after snubbing Hull. He's hardly coming across as the salt of the earth, do anything for Salford type fella. Maybe there's more to it, and I'll adjust my views accordingly. I can only go off what I see, and it isn't great.

Maybe he has found out something about next season that is yet to come out ? This is totally depressing and after the elation of him saying he was staying then the total removal of the debt we have this total downer. Let’s see what comes out over the next few days. I don’t think it’s going to be good.

Bit sour this for me. I'd have forgiven a move to a bigger club. Makes sense for him. But after putting out that positive video and extending his contract until the end of next season, to do this feels a bit like a betrayal. I'm glad of what he's done at our club, but this way. This manner. Has soured it for me. I feel the same. Very conflicted. If it was Leeds/Saints/Wigan/Wire I could have understood the logic of it as a career move ... but Huddersfield? They have a bigger cap than us naturally (who doesn't), but it'll take him a couple of seasons of getting rid of the chaff there before he can make any progress. I fear he'll end up in the Hastings/Jones/(possibly) Evalds bucket of realising this wasn't a great move.

He's even come out in the last 72 hrs saying we've come through this better than most in SL.
I smell a rat, a giant stinking rat somewhere.

Assume everyone is putting 2 and 2 together with Hudds? Where's the source?
Saints & Wire would seem more likely if something has gone on at either of them.
Either way I'm devastated, just glad I'm off social media so I don't have to read some of the sh1te that'll be Ying round there tonight.😭

Maybe they just offered him lots and lots of money? It’s a short career, if he had a terrible start to next season he could lose his job. He’s got to think of his family/future. Am absolutely gutted but I don’t really understand alll the harsh words towards him. He’s been unreal for us, as we have been for him. Unless anything major happens in the next few days/weeks we’ll still have the best squad we’ve had for years.

On the face of it you’re being very generous in your appraisal of him. More Swintonian than Salfordian, now he’s gone 😂😂😂. Yes,I wonder why he’s gone. Money, plus signing Hastings ?

I've found him a man of integrity. Did the Club let him down one time too many?
We have to applaud him for heat he's achieved. He's a true Salfordian, who's done well Good luck to you Ian for your future, and thanks mate.

What a sh1t year this has been and now finnished off with the fantastic news our best ever coach has departed to a nothing club. I can't comprehend why we havnt moved heaven and earth to keep him.
I'm gutted. We're f*cked next year.
