I think an old experienced forward could be a good shout. Someone with the same kind of presence as Moose or Dudson. I think the crop of young forwards we have have really come on this season, so I'm happy with the direction they're going. A bit of big game experience and a bit of physical presence would make the balance pretty good. Still a little concerned about the half-backs. Brown has been decent but he's another year older and is already getting on. Tui isn't consistent enough without an organiser next to him. Atkin has shown in bursts that he's capable but doesn't seem to be an organiser. Another hooker would be nice, but I think Ackers is decent.
A decent rest and a productive pre-season and we may have a side that can gel earlier in the season than we normally do due to massive rebuilds.

Unpopular opinion but I’d try and get Flower for a year or two.

For me I'm not certain Brown has it in him for another season, his injury record of late is pretty poor and we put all our eggs in his basket and gets crocked Atkins has shown while he's OK as a stop gap he won't steer in a way the team and more importantly Tui needs.
So a scrum halve, a hooker and 2/3 props for me as Mossop is getting towards the twilight of his career so will need plenty of rest and for me Dudson is nearly impossible to replace on the kind of money he will have been on.

Unpopular opinion but I’d try and get Flower for a year or two. I'd have Flower in a heart beat, he's in the Dudson mould, tough no nonsense prop.
Maybe Amor might be another shout.

Thought about Amor also, something putting me off though and I can’t put my finger on what. Also RE Mossop, I was surprised to see he’s only 31. Plenty of gas left in the tank. |

Think we've got Addy for next season, hooker and organiser. Good player if he gets fit enough.
But yes an experienced forward now Dudson, Flanagan and possibly McCarthy going.
Funny Tui never really seems to perform to his potential, somehow.

I can see us picking up Darcy Lussick if Toronto arent allowed back to Super League. Seems like he is living with Joey and would easily slot into Dudsons shoes. Like us picking up Addy as adds a real utility value as can cover half, hooker back row and loose. Agree that we need another half back as got a nagging feeling that Tui may not be with us next season.

I can see Flower appearing. Got ties to Watson and Wales. I think that Flower offers nothing but penalties and suspensions and wouldn't have him near my side personally. Just don't like him. Amor and Darcy Lussick are good shouts and would really fit the side better.
I like Tui, but he's a HB that plays on emotion. When he's got that working for him he's quite a talent, but when it's not he struggles. One look at his performances for Tonga recently shows his ability. He just needs things to tick for it to work. Brown is still a risk with age and injuries but knows how to control a game and if we play someone else in his role they need to have the same skill set.

For me we need a 7, whilst Brown has done very well for us this year another year is perhaps asking too much. Tui needs someone to offer structure so he can play his game. Atkin is not a 7 that organizes well at this point, I'd like to see Gilmore get a chance versus Wire other than that its bringing in a 7 as a priority.

Tom Gilmore can play 7 - is he good enough and can we sign him? Don't know ? But surely he is worth a punt in the remaining games to assess his potential. Atkin does not organize a team, whilst Gilmore and Ashall Bott are here we have nothing to lose in playing them IMO especially with injuries. We may even be able to sign either having seen both in action if Watto thinks they fit. |

Atkin has been given the chance to stand up and take that 7 shirt for himself but he's just not an organising half. We definitely need a 7 for next year can't see Brown lasting the whole season

I`m not a great Patton fan as he kicks aimlessley too often but he does take the team around the pitch.
In the pack I wouldnt be surprised if Saints be the targetted club with Amor & Peyroux possibilities.
