Isn't that young lad from Wigan a Prop?

I agree with what most have said.
Yates is a good replacement for Flanagan but flash will still be missed - he has that little extra few % accuracy, timing and quality of passing that few others have (o’loughlin probably the only other 13 as good) that gives the half backs an extra half second to do their stuff
Looking forward to seeing Linnett, think he’ll bring lots of energy and enthusiasm to the back row, can cover in the centres and could possibly develop into a flash type player as he has decent hands
Evalds is pretty much irreplaceable (maybe Ponga?😉). Escare is good though. Probably a bit quicker than Evalds and a bit better at kick returns though.
Burgess isn’t quite the player he was before he went to oz but Watto could get him back to his best
Would love to see Inu stay but does he get in the team ahead of Escare, Burgess, Sarginson, Watkins, Williams? Depth is really important though. Those 5 plus Inu, Costello, Kear and Chamberlain would be decent. Not sure whether Sio is off contract? If not then massively strong
If Joey is off then we need another hooker. Atkin can do a job there to back up Ackers but wouldn’t want to rely on him and he needs to cover the halves. Hopefully Aspey will turn out as good as blease and Watto think he could be but he’ll need a year or two to develop
Another prop or two. One experienced. One younger. We have a lot of players aged 28 and over so bringing a younger forward in would be good

Isn't that young lad from Wigan a Prop? Oh yeah. I think he is. That would cover the younger one I was saying we could do with

Wells but I think he's another 2nd row
Evalds I think needs a change and his agent seems to have something against us. Maybe some other Club lined up after a year, the 1 year contract does seem odd. And Cas also have a certain O'Brien I think staying on next year
Now there's a thing to discuss on the Cas Fans website "who's the best full back Evalds or Obrien"

"Red Devils seek to match Watson’s ambition" if anyone's got the story on this from Total paywall; what's it all about , please?

Paul King recognises we may lose Watto but is determined to avoid doing so.
`It`s not about money - it`s about ambition` he said.

Is that it? There were all sorts of smash and grab stories on forums and in the media including a "Hull should grab him now" post. If he goes, I'm afraid it could be the defining moment for progress, lack of it or decline.
A period of decline or that word the press uses meaning you're on the way down, well that'll be something new, won't it?, we've never known that before!

He's a big fish in a small pond Watto with next to no pressure to bring home silverware. He's had a hell of a rough time with him constantly rebuilding year after year so you can understand either way. I fingers crossed don't think he'll leave until we've got to both or at least one more final and potentially win some silverware.

I really appreciate you making the effort but it was still hidden, russ xx Weird. It isn’t on mine. Pasted the text below Salford Red Devils Chairman Paul King recognises that his head-coach Ian Watson has admirers at several other Super League clubs. And with vacancies at Huddersfield Giants and Hull FC, as well as some uncertainty about whether Adrian Lam will stay at Wigan in 2021, there are plenty of clubs circling that would appear to have a bigger budget to offer Watson than Salford are able to. Watson initially joined Salford in 2014, moving from Swinton Lions to become the assistant coach to Iestyn Harris. In late 2015 he was promoted to interim head-coach after Harris left the club and he was given the job on a permanent basis in 2016, working alongside the club’s then Director of Rugby Tim Sheens, before Sheens left to join Hull Kingston Rovers at the end of 2016. His success since then, alongside his assistant coaches Greg Brown and Paul Rowley, has attracted admirers across the game and the Red Devils, who have been vulnerable to losing their leading players in recent seasons, could now face a battle to retain their coach. The club’s Chairman recognises the danger that they could lose Watson, but is determined to avoid doing so. “It’s not about money, it’s about ambition,” King told League Express. “Whether it’s as a club, as a city, or as a supporter base, we have to ensure that we can match Ian’s ambition. “He’s done a wonderful job in raising our performance levels and the profile of the city of Salford since he became our coach, but I have no doubt that he can take us much further and we will be taking every step possible to ensure that he is able to do that with our support

It does seem to have little real substance at present, I hope he sees how much he's appreciated here.
If the management are proactive enough that shouldn't be a problem especially if it's not a question of money.
Seeing mention of the instantly forgettable coaching career of Iestin Harris was a blast from the past I could do without.
And at least there are ready made replacements on board already which is something I've not considered because I want Watto to stay of course.
I'm glad Paul King is on the case. even though that sounds like a line from an episode of Vera!

Can't see Watson having any interest in going to Hull. Won't get the free rein he gets at Salford given their owner. I can see Watson going to Oz rather than going to another SL club.
As for replacements - #1 priority for me would be a big hairy prop. I felt that was what we were missing on the pitch on Saturday.
Whilst I would prefer if he stayed, Evalds leaving and walking into a shambles at Castleford could be a great retention tool for us, would make it a hat-trick of big name players to leave and subsequently go backwards in form (Jones, Hastings, ...).

Owners do have a tendency to interfere beyond their capacity but that's a reesult of passion and emotional investment rather than the money.
Going to Oz would be a good learning curve for him but he'd only be likely, at best, to be an assistant there.
I read that JH believes he's a better player now because of his year at the Warriors which I can't agree with.
Your fascination with big hairy props is a bit worrying.

In his post match press conference watto said he’s very happy with our back line for next year but we need some forwards. He reckons we need 4 more players to be really competing for the top places. Says he’s confident we’ll get them
For the backs I think we’ll have:
Escare, Williams, Sio, Burgess, Inu (🤞), Sarginson, Watkins, Chamberlain, Costello
Halves:
Brown, Tui, Atkin
Forwards:
Mossop, Johnson, Addy, Yates, Pauli, Livett, Lannon, Greenwood, Roberts, Wells (Not sure about Ikahihifo and McCarthy?)
Hookers: Ackers, Aspey
We need another hooker and at least 2 more props even if Seb stays
