I’m trying to see the positive side. Nothing there says Watto is interested or that salford are taking the money 🤞🙏🏾

Always going to happen sadly but would be quite disappointed in Watson to get so close to getting silverware and to sign some quality players for next year and leave. However we'd probably get a lot of money and there's quite a few decent coaches lurking in the league below

That’s no consolation whatsoever. We need to keep him

I think Hull is a poisoned chalice to be honest. But if he feels it's the right move then there's little we can do. Good RL coaches are like gold dust at the moment, and ironically, it's usually our playing staff that gets poached but it's our strongest asset that is being sniffed around in Watson.

Inevitable really.
I'd be surprised if he goes as it appears we are doing our best to give the quality of player he wants and the off season player drain doesn't appear to be as bad this season.
I also have a gut feeling our increased exposure over the past 18 months will lead to investment from outside and possible new ownership.

Awful news if he were to go.
It’d have to be a bloody good financial offer for him to be worth it from his point of view. At Salford he’s having success, is adored by the fans, has a deep personal connection to the club, and a super strong relationship with the board. He’s got near infinite credit in the bank.
At Hull he will be under immediate pressure to improve a perennially underperforming team with demanding fans breathing down his neck and an owner with a track record of publicly firing a coach on live TV.
It’d have to be a bloody big pay rise to justify the move, that’s what I think. If he can get that kind of money, then it’s hard to begrudge it for the feller, but it’ll be awful to see him coach another team.

All kinds of talk on the Hull board. Including we’re swapping him for Josh Jones plus cash. I am really hoping it’s all just rumours.

Heartbreaking news, am gutted. Just as we have the chance to build on another good run. From what I’ve heard he’s definitely going, it sounds like Hull but also been told Wigan. Would almost prefer Wigan, Hull just seems a strange side step move. Gutted

Here we go again, before the end of season another Salford employee tapped up by the sniff of more money and better things. I wonder if Evalds is going to Hull after next season. If he goes all that he spoke about last week was just bullshit.

Money talks always.
My worry is if Watto takes his team with him - Brown, Rowley etc etc

I’d be surprised if he goes tbh. Whole teams needs surgery and distance may be an issue. Plus he’s a Salford lad!
I can o let see it being saints Wigan or wire otherwise I can’t see if happening

Basically the Club is short of cash and King says they want to match his ambition and recently said they were getting a star player. We have been surviving on the back of Watto & Blease getting new players in, developing them (then them leaving sadly) since Marwan left.
Perhaps the survival, talking and promising time is over and the Club has to raise an extra £1M a year, the equivalent say of ownership. Develop RL in schools and the Greater Manchester area, an Academy etc. So get and operate a workable plan for the next 5 years to raise the level of the Club and keep Watto.
If it's all talk by the Board, Watto will leave and go somewhere as he can't go on rebuilding a team each year, and who would blame him. I hate to say anything is irreplaceable but I think he is.
So if the Board don't do their bit and Watto leaves I think we don't have long in the SL. And you can't blame Watto for wanting to chase his dream

The issue is and this is good authority that the club need around 500grand to compete at top cap but where do you raise it? Fan base isn't suddenly going to explode and with corona sponsors may be unwilling to come in! It's difficult but it's the way we are if watson goes he goes because money is very far off to reach the cap

King keeps saying he's going to support Watto in his plans, and that he wants a star player, so was wondering what the Board doing or is it just talk? They can't just keep begging off the fans as seems to be happening with every web site post. Que sera sera. Just hope there is a real plan.

As Mike Tyson said, everybody has a plan until they’re thumped on the nose, which is where we are. Not sure what you’re expecting Paul King to do. They’re not money men, just administrators for a community club with no money. Certainly they could pay Watson top dollar but that wouldn’t extend to expensive new signings. Personally,I think they’ve worked wonders and ,in signing,Sarge,Watkins,Burgess and Brown, have demonstrated that they’re not just talk
