Have you two found a case of the Docs red wine? 'Two trains leave different cities heading toward each other at different speeds. When and where do they meet'
Thought it was just me.

Just to try and divert the discussion onto something we all might have a chance of understanding. What are people's thoughts on what seems a very strange squad selection
Interesting squad selection by Watto. Does this mean - a number of players injured - some not as fit as they should be - some with minds elsewhere Dudson - giving fringe players a run to see if they're worth keeping Ormondroyd - some not being offered contracts and head not in the right place - that we're saving our ammunition for the Challenge Cup, as this from where we are, is the realistic thing to fight for - Or looking at the new rules this is the best squad Or probably bits of all the above

I'd guess a mish mash of the above.
The league's a write off in all reality (and I still remain unconvinced it will be completed) so a tilt at the CC is our best shot of some more glory.
Some players just don't train well on their own so some will be much less fit than others, can also see Watson will have annalised the games and come up with a specific game plan and the players who will best be able to carry it out.

Reckon he’s discarded one or two, and is very much looking forward

This is the time with no relegation to give players games who haven't played much see if they are right, experiment with a few things

I think MR has it about right - with a really short ‘pre-season’ it very much depends on how players trained in isolation which isn’t for everyone. There might also be a few minor injuries that we just haven’t heard about. I expect we’ll see some rotation over the coming weeks.

I think it’s pretty much the strongest 21 we could name.
Dudson and Burke missing are the big surprises for me. Be interesting to know why they’re not in. They weren’t mentioned as injured on the press conference so maybe not at the fitness levels Watto wants? Watto has no problem playing lads who are leaving so I can’t see it being that with Dudson unless he’s done stuff that suggests he’s not fully focussed
We have a pretty fit set of backs so Inu and Chamberlain miss out. The lack of forwards put Ormondroyd and Jones in there just in case. Wouldn’t be too surprised if Jones plays to give us 2 hookers. Jones’s running game could be a bonus if we are on top and winning some set restarts. I wouldn’t pick him but I can see why Watto might
As per the team I posted above, I think Jones, Ormondroyd, Greenwood and Kear will miss out

There will have to be rotation, esp as we get to the last few weeks abd there’s 2 games a week. With our small squad I can see it being a tough few months for us

Greenwood might get another crack depending on how he trained. With Roberts out we are light on back rowers and McCarthy has looked much more effective at 13. We need Yates at prop as well with Dudson and Burke out.

I agree McCarthy is better at 13 but he’s better in ther second row than greenwood and Yates is a great loose. But that’s just my view, I think Watto might start with Yates at prop which would either mean Pauli or Greenwood in 2nd row I guess?

I don't know if it's linked but I've just read an article with a rugby journo who's been at Wire's training sessions this week and he's said that fitness training has gone up quite a bit to prepare players for the 6 again. If this is true for a teams you can see a few players taking a few weeks to be up to the minimum of that's the case

Greenwood is a top player on his day was attracting NRL interest when he was at Hull believe it or not. He came off the back of a bad injury and had hardly played before he played this season. Give him time and he'll get back to his best.
