Seems like Sale are making corncrete plans to move out.
Can only be that Salford wendyball would either move in as primary tenants or buy it outright.

Times like these I wish we had a Doc type figure to make that big step. I would've said Wilkie but John struck me as always more and perhaps even too careful and that's not a criticism just a reflection on what we need if the place comes available.
Maybe getting rid of the blue seats would be on the cards now or are the lions moving in?

I doubt whether it'll be for 3-4 years at least, Having a few friends in Sale the rather large not in my back yard brigade that live in the area of the proposed site will protest at every little thing, I remember when Aldi & B&M opened they were shrieks of outrage. And once they opened the car parks were full of Cheshire Tractors Land Rovers/ Volvo Suvs etc Also all the long life Shopping bags were John Lewis & Waitrose.!!

To be fair, the proposed site is currently the home of Sale Harriers, one of the bigger Athletic Clubs in the country, and several football teams who use the very large playing fields. I can fully understand why people involved with those clubs will object to the plans.
For what it’s worth, I think that there is a fairly good chance that the weight of public opinion may be against the plan.

Having said all that, it will mean SRD can formulate a plan for a bid over the next period and if we managed to own it that could really start something. Just wish I had the cash!

You either see it as a major problem or a massive opportunity. Think I know where my money is.

It's only a problem for us if the stadium owners say enough is enough and the new owners don't want us as tenants.
I don't see Sale making the sort of massive investment that a new build would cost.
Would be a shame as I remember playing Trafford Borough there and it was a wonderful track.

If we have a 99 year lease then if the Stadium was sold then there's not a lot the New owners can do I really can't see Salford City fc being able to afford it Even if Pete Lim and the 6 other Duckers Digging deep into there pockets. Beckham Currently has put all his dosh into his Footie club in Florida ,

Unless the winning bid is £12.50 and a bag of nuts, I concur - not a hope in hell.
