Apperenty the Reserves match is postponed. Externally i found out that it was being played Sat afternoon on the Training Pitch. Not of course from the Club Website.....wonder why they don't publicise it...perhaps it doesn't make money!

A forward reaches his end of shelf life quicker than a back, a back has potential options to change position to compensate or slowing down a forward is already at that point all is career. Who's the oldest player in Superleague, and what position? Gareth Ellis?

Inu starts, Flash on the bench and McCarthy at loose. Looks like a change in tactics- back to what worked last year. Looks like Lannon might back up at prop which isn’t ideal though.

Sounds like a hardworking first half. Leeds gifted 6 points by the ref on the hooter. 8 - 6 half time.

Weather, key decisions and injuries aside, I think we are in a relegation scrap - us, Hull KR, Wakey and Toronto. I think we can finish ahead of them but need to make some real improvements.
The play the balls are agonisingly slow which makes life difficult for a backline that is lacking in quality really. We’ve only managed to score tries that were not off kicks right out wide. We just can’t rely on Lolohea and Evalds all year. We should have been well up after that first half.
A few signings are looking like they are not at the level of those they replaced. And a few who performed last season are not at that level either. The squad doesn’t look as tight as last year - but that’s just my view.
Next week is a massive game. Apologies for the doom and gloom - I’m cold, wet and miserable after that!

Apologies for the doom and gloom - I’m cold, wet and miserable after that! I've been banging-on about the ptb speed for at least the last few games. We look painfully slow, and are simply not giving the backs the chances they require. I said that the first six weeks of the season will be key to our run-in at the back end of the season. We are looking poor at the moment, and we need a kick up the arse so as not to fall into those old habits of head-down rugby.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you but its difficult to judge after that. Down to 1 interchange after 50 minutes and a referee that was as incompetent as he was one eyed we were given no chance to win that game. The worst aspect of the referee's performance was how he tried to level the penalty count late in the game when we were absolutely gassed having been on the wrong side of every decision for 20 minutes. Thought our forwards went well and had they had the chance to be spelled would have prevailed but the injuries put paid to that. Thought Tui took his try brilliantly nobody was stopping him getting to that line!! Not too depressed after that tbh.

It was my first game because of illness. For 35 minutes we did everything right then silly decision making and it's 8 6,in the first 10 minutes of the second half we didn't score when we had them on their line. We run out of ideas we were like a flock of sheep with out the shepherd and let's have it right Leeds were nothing to right home about. We want inspiration from somewhere and fast.Their were times in the second half Leeds had know one at the back it was crying out for a little kick for someone to chase, something different.I think we are in a bottom four fight. That's how I see it.

I thought we were the better team for a large proportion of the game and the try before half time and the first 20 of the 2nd half killed us when we barely touched the ball. Like you say, Griffiths just wanted to even the penalty count late on but when you're 10 points down and have defended multiple back to back sets you could see we were knackered. Leeds are average as **** despite spending the full cap and were there for the taking. I'm not worried tho, thought Atkin had a decent game and Jones looked lively 1st half. We'll be fine. Wakey are struggling so need to turn them over next week and I think we can win at Catalans. Atmosphere was terrible tho and as fans we need to take the blame for that. Can't just rely on winning games to perk us up and raise the noise levels. We know this season ain't gonna be riding the crest of the wave like last year so we need to get behind the lads big time.

Will comment about the game later but having now watched over 2,000 games over the years I cannot remember a Refereeing performance as bad as that today. Totally wrecked the game & totally agree with V above it was SO blatantly obvious that he was levelling the penalty count near the end.
Knowing Ganson I would think Griffiths will be ref next week v Wakey.

The shockers started with the tackle in the air on Evalds near our goal line. Griffiths was 5 yards away and still missed it. It seemed to spiral from there and even the Leeds players looked a bit bemused. Unfortunate thing was they were there for the taking today. Thought they were average and we didn't make them pay. Must win next week now.

I couldn’t see the Evalds one from where I was but it looked close. Some of the others didn’t look remotely close.

We`ve spoken on here about guile - well there isn`t much is there> One man driving is so repetitive and easy to defend against . Flash must be a certain starter next week, Burke too so we can at least have a couple of pivots so PP can run wider & at pace for once.
Tui at last took the line on - and guess what - he scored. Dudson was excellent - so too Seb - & PP did 80 minutes. Lets be fair - No Brown - No Sarge - No Flash - No Inu - No Yates - No Moose - No Burke etc
I do think Watto can sort the problems bit we have to be more expansive. Wakey are no mugs as we saw last night.
Lets not start talking about relegation - we are in February so plenty of time for the team to gel.

At half time we were talking about how much we had improved since the Toronto game, then it all fell away after HT.
Not sure what to make of it really. Forced to play Lannon in the centres for 75 mins and lost Yates early on as well. Then lost McCarthy second half also. And with some dubious reffing calls you could say it was a decent effort.
Not quite got the killer instinct yet though. Should've been 12 up vs Hudds at HT and lost, and a similar story today. The try on HT was the killer. If we'd gone in 8-0 I reckon we would've won the game.
