He is a Salford player now so deserves our support. I know he will get it. We can talk about how well he as done at the end of next season.

PPS. I'm willing to give Brown a chance. Richardson would have been better but in Watto we trust.👍 I agree and if we make the Grand Final you never know - we might add another player. I also agree that we’ve been fairly balanced on here so far - we are a moderate bunch compared to Twitter.

This reminds me of the Michael Dobson signing. A fabulous player who is now well past his best. He is a good organiser and can help the young players at the club. Dobson turned out to be ok,

As I have said before come back to me if he proves to be a star at Salford

The forum is here to provide discussion and allow people to air their views. All the people who have posted a differing view to your own have not said anything about those posters who have seen the signing as positive. Not a single one. Please try to restrain yourself from slipping into childish behavior because others don't agree with you. Thanks. Just playing devils advocate here Carnster and not wishing to get into an argument but.... I don't think EB has stepped out of line on this one. We do have an element of our fan base (like most fan bases I guess) who automatically jump on the back of a player because they don't perceive him as being the answer to a solution. It's happened many a time on here and funnily enough Watson has been proven right in almost all occasions. On the flip side how many times have people on here put their giddy knickers on by a perceived star signing only to be seriously underwhelmed? He hasn't resorted to name calling and surely we're not gonna be smacking bottoms for using the word 'boo boys'?😁 PS. I'm not EB's mate, just merely trying to bring the force back into the balance.😉 I don't disagree with what you've said. Just don't want others to feel that they are somewhat inferior fans for daring to think the opposite of someone. While it's all very gentle, and far from a bottom smacking. We're all adults here. Just want to keep a tight leash as a mod on the devisive subjects. It doesn't take long for forums to descend into bickering like the Turkey and people then become disengaged. I'm sure EB understands from the Turkey days. Apologies if I came over a little stern,

It’s a forum for differing views and there’s no way EB posted anything untoward. I take Carnsters point in the general sense, that he has to ensure it’s all good natured, but it has been !

Do will all hate him this much because every time we play him he seems to tear us a new one?

But I can see him being a good player for us and as good a player as Dobson was. He can be a great influence on the younger players as well. Let’s give him a chance.

Look don't think anyone is saying Brown hasn't been a good player and you'd think that if the greatest RL of all time thinks highly enough of him to pick him then he's good enough .
The issue is his age, his recent injury history and well he's just a bit of a grub.
I keep saying it I'm convinced he will turn into a top class coach so I'm hoping he's been told come and play when needed and learn your next career at the same time.

I thought Dudson was a useless lump watching him in his final season at Widne and was pretty disappointed in the signing but glad to eat my own words. We can't for a second understimate how good of a coach Watson is and how he can get high quality performance from such 'average players'

It’s more how he fits into what we have that concerns me. If he was linking up with Lui and a younger Flash then no problem. But our first choice 13 next year is likely to be a (quality) grafter and Lolohea isn’t a playmaker. It’s a lot of weight on his shoulders to create space and dictate play.

Puts a greater emphasis on the hooker to play a more creative role, maybe why Atkin looks like being a utility player.

As I have said before come back to me if he proves to be a star at Salford Why not? This feels very reminiscent of when Dobson signed for us - overpaid, too old, too slow, useless. For most of his first season the b** b*ys (excuse my language) were on his back every game. I think Dobson at his best was a smarter player than Brown and a better game manager but never as quick or as good at taking the line on as Brown. Brown brings loads of experience and quality. He would have been first choice 7 st wire this year so he must have something still. Let’s see how he goes and take it from there

I also believe that he is a good signing. In the many years of watching him he has looked good against us with good hands and rugby brain. Unable to fathom why people criticise him without seeing him in our team. The coach rates him which should be enough for everyone.
