In defence of his ageing body - having watched him for Leigh last week, although he didn’t impress at all for a terrible Leigh team he did look pretty mobile and covered a fair amount of ground. He didn’t strike me as a man struggling with knee issues. I’m still not sold but I thought that was positive.

Will give him the chance he deserves but I am massively underwhelmed by Brown, he is though without doubt a quality coach in waiting and do hope there's a nod to this in his contract, I'd let him get involved with the academy to start to learn his trade.

I have no clue the actual amount but I'm betting Brown won't be on 10 bob a week and all the Uncle Joe's he can eat, I would have preferred to see us go for Lamb ex of Londinium or Richardson as Brown with the best will in the world is a 1 season buy, Lamb of Richardson would have been an investment in our future.

We might still spend our newly earned cash.

We might still spend our newly earned cash. I did wonder that myself, though if anything you'd think that will be used to pay the bills during the off season.
I'd love to know what the quantifiable effect on marketing and sponsorship revenues is with out end of season form, must be quite significant.

Awful one dimensional player. His performances for England were a Joke. Warrington fans are happy to see the back of him. A player I have always hated. He said he had other options, total boll0cks. On a good wedge I bet and we fell for his garbage. It will not end well this. Come back to me if he turns out to be a superstar for Salford.

Totally Underwhelmed, Couldn't they have waited till next week to Announce it ? Took the Buzz away from tomorrow, for a Player who plays a important position in the team I'm truly Disappointed.

There were a few raised eyebrows (fans and management alike) when we signed Burke, Dudson and Chamberlain but look how wrong they were. As far as I'm concerned if he wears a Salford RD shirt and does his best then that'll do for me. The last thing we need to do is get on his back from day one, I've had conversations with folk at the club and the negative social media does get to the players and we need make sure that doesn't happen here.

Dearie Me some of our posters need a reality check. We have signed a quality player who has always been a thorn in our side when playing against us. He has a good Rugby brain and plays the type of width game Watson wants and will get with him. Although we may only get 12/24 months out of him he can pass on 16 years of experience at top level.
Why do Salford have so many Boo Boys? Get behind him and the Lads AND Watson.

I think this is a pretty good signing, the guys an organiser who can pick a pass, has a decent kicking game and has been an international. He is still mobile , but Tui will be the running half. I can’t see him being on a big wage due to his age, so for me a very shrewd signing. As people have mentioned, u aren’t going to replace Jacko like for like so u look at the key attributes needed for a SH to work with a running SO. Organising, decent kicking and being able to pick a pass/ opportunity are key. All of his KB can do to a high standard.
The important thing is that although the loss of JH and JJ is huge, the squad for next year (on paper) potentially looks stronger across the park with a bit more depth.

Give the lad a chance, he always seems a positive sort of person and he can always fill the Gleason role too.

All the people who have posted a differing view to your own have not said anything about those posters who have seen the signing as positive. Not a single one. Please try to restrain yourself from slipping into childish behavior because others don't agree with you. Thanks.

It’s fair enough to discuss the pros and cons of a signing on a forum. However some of the fans on Twitter publicly slagging the signing off and tagging Brown is the post is absolutely pathetic and a sign of the times.

Just playing devils advocate here Carnster and not wishing to get into an argument but.... I don't think EB has stepped out of line on this one. We do have an element of our fan base (like most fan bases I guess) who automatically jump on the back of a player because they don't perceive him as being the answer to a solution. It's happened many a time on here and funnily enough Watson has been proven right in almost all occasions. On the flip side how many times have people on here put their giddy knickers on by a perceived star signing only to be seriously underwhelmed? He hasn't resorted to name calling and surely we're not gonna be smacking bottoms for using the word 'boo boys'?😁 PS. I'm not EB's mate, just merely trying to bring the force back into the balance.😉

PPS. I'm willing to give Brown a chance. Richardson would have been better but in Watto we trust.👍
