Any little thing helps, pity as he is such a classy player but takes a real attacking weapon away.

Be good to see Walmsley spend a bit of time in the bin for the continual use of his forearm in the tsckle.

In classic Salford style, we expect a hammering so it will probably end up a decent game. Canโt see a win for us but expect it to be tight until Saints pull away in the last 20 minutes.

Can't see us beating Saints on Thursday unfortunately, think they'll be too good for us. Just hope it's not as bad as last season!

We were in the game for 60 mins vs Leeds before they scored 26 points. Hull KR also scored 16 points in the last 10 minutes of the first half. If we can get an even share of possession we can trouble most teams but if we invite teams onto us with mistakes we seem to struggle to stop the momentum.
Saints goal kicking seems almost as erratic as ours so I suppose that is one bonus.
Hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves.
I know Thursday night games are grim but it's our last home game for a month so let's try and get a reasonable turnout.

Kicking game has to be absolutely spot on and missed tackles at a minimum. Can get away with a few poor kicks against some teams but Saints have to be starting most of their sets deep in their half or they'll murder us. Keep finding touch and slow the game down and don't give Makinson, Grace and Lomax space to run into.
And for god's sake go low on Walmsley and Thompson or they'll just bounce off us all day! Oh and stop the offloads and quick PTB's.
Anything I've missed?๐

Real blow as Mossop misses out. Need Murray and Burke to really step up or the Saints pack will dominate and create the platform for the backs.
Evalds, Welham, Sa'u, Bibby, Lui, Dudson, Jones, Griffin, Flanagan, Lussick, Burke, McCarthy, Nakubuwai, Tomkins, Murray, Olpherts, Sio, Turgut, Hastings.

Saints 19 man squad
Lomax, Makinson, Percival, Grace, Fages, Walmsley, Roby, Thompson, Taia, Paulo, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Knowles, Amor, Peyroux, Lees, Ashworth, Bentley, Coote, Costello.
Assume they'll line up something like...
Coote
Makinson Percival Peyroux Grace
Fages Lomax
Walmsley Roby Thompson
Taia LMS Knowles
Amor & Lees on the bench with 2 others.
Plenty of size and pace in that 17 and we're gonna have to punch above our weight. We were described as a big pack by Sheens last weekend and can't see it myself. Surely we must have one of the smallest packs in the league, especially with Mossop out?

Hope Mossop is in the squad as gives us that extra bit of size. Getting nervous now... our record against Saints is dire and we need to be "on it" for the full 80 and everyone have a blinder. Start like last week and we'll be 30 points down at HT!!!
Come on lads, do us proud and let's not have the usual Sky horror show! Got a horrible feeling the crowd is going to be a shocker as well despite our decent start to the season. Don't think Saints will bring that many and a lot of our casual fans will watch it on TV.
We need to be up for this on the terraces as well and give the lads the extra boost they need. Get behind them for the full 80 and treat this game as a cup tie, as a good performance, regardless of result, will give us a massive shot in the arm going into a tough run of fixtures.
