Joey was definitely in the UK for the first few weeks of lockdown as there were videos of him and Jacko passing the ball into bins across the street and the like. Plus he was on the RDTV video about life in lockdown. Not seen him on anything for a few weeks now so maybe he did go home more recently?

Warriors were pretty abject and deserved to lose I think he might be right about the rule change though. Combined with some teams not looking match fit, it does feel like there have been more one sided games than usual for the NRL

Not sure I’ll get my car in the lift to the 1873 suite... Get that Sinclair C5 dusted of and Roberts yer Mothers Brother. The C5 leaves me too exposed to the toxic air. I’ll stick to my reliant robin thank you

Again it's crazy that there hasn't been an announcement from the RFL about restart dates and solutions to get all the scheduled games in and the CC too.
There is in effect nothing much to stop them starting July 1st thus giving them 4/5 months to cram everything in.
Still think the best option is a winner takes all league and then some sort of 9's road show comes seasons end to get each team a bigger than normal pay day, the play offs can't be on this year as it is imperative that all teams get to maximise incomings for the rest of the season rather than missing the top 5 and then basically ending the season.
There has been. A couple of weeks ago

Yes when we restart is the most important thing for the sport and what it'll look like when we do. I'm holding out for being a Fan it the Stand to give SRD a bit of help. I did wonder if we'd have the crowd sounds like Oz but could only imagine ref abuse and gerem onside. Just seen something on the Labbc party website that a football team in Denmark had a drive in game, would that work with RL, might be a good money earner if possible. Not sure I’ll get my car in the lift to the 1873 suite...

Me too! Everyone expected this and sadly it shows the Aussie outlook on international games hasn't changed enough. Having said that I can understand why but they're wrong .........again! At least the RL World Cup in the UK & Ireland next year . How does it show that? NRL season only just restarted with a late finish. SL proposals show an earliest finish of late November, SL season starts again in Feb, World Cup next year. No guarantee of crowds being able to watch sport by November or when international travel will be a thing like normal When exactly and how were we supposed to fit an ashes tour in?

MR most of the day to day staff are off but obviously those in charge are still working- somebody has to steer the ship. I don’t get the Flash v McCarthy one or the other discussion (it comes up often elsewhere) as we’ve played both of them together for a while now and it seems to bring out the best in both. McCarthy starts, soaks up the initial barrage and keeps it simple and then Flash tries to open things up. When one is injured or shifted to another position they don’t seem to play as well and neither does the team. We tried Burke and Yates but neither did much. Just my view but it seemed pretty clear to me that the team looked a damn sight better with those two back at loose forward in the last couple of games. Agree we shouldn’t break the bank but can’t really see him demanding much or many other top flight clubs bidding and pushing his price up - no disrespect to him. I think this is about right. Tyke and flash bring the best out in each other

From rugbyleaguehub.com:
Tyrone McCarthy is looking at his options as his contract at Salford is set to finish at the end of 2020. Rumour is McCarthy, who's 31, has a few options in front of him for 2021. The back-rower is keen to play on and we're unsure at this stage if the Red Devils want to keep him at the club or not. So far our enquiries have gone unanswered.

Only game I’ve not watched so far. Overslept. Sounds like a great performance by the warriors. I’ll catch up with it later. Sharks and tigers game pretty good so far

I’ve never known it used in junior rugby league in the 6/7 years I’ve been coaching. They stop the game if it’s a penalty. There’s no kicking before u10s (I think, it’s been a few years) either out of hand or for goal so they get another 6 tackles from when the ref/coach restarts the game but they don’t just restart the tackle count like they are trialing in NRL.
I think I’m in a minority of not being keen. Early days yet I know but I’m not sure of the principle. I like the idea of fewer stoppages in theory but I’m not sure it will be positive for the game in practice.
I think holding is very subjective already and I think it will appear even more so with this new rule. As things stand a ref has to be sure It’s worth stopping the game for, with this rule I think psychologically the ref is more likely to give ones he might have let go. From what I’ve seen in the games so far there is no more consistency within games than there was before.
More importantly I think it will overly reward a team that gets on a roll early and it will reward less expansive play. In the games I’ve seen the teams that have given away a few of those in the first quarter never really recover. It doesn’t give the defence time to reset so it means the attacking team can make breaks more easily against a less organised, more tired, retreating defence. So attacking teams have to work less hard once they get on a roll
It has created games played at a brutal pace which has been good to watch at the start but in the last quarter teams have run away with it. This will be partly to do with lack of match fitness but I think it might become part of the game. It will reward teams who are big and quick rather than skillful is my fear

Welham has been quality Have we ever had a player with a better hand off? The number of players he’s sat on their arse has been fabulous to watch

According to paul king on the bet Fred interview last night there will be a few announcements over the next few weeks. I think he meant current players signing new deals. Only name mentioned was Mossop re-signing is close (apparently that has been in the papers)

I believe they needed a certain number of appearances for Wales to qualify - 12 or 15 I think - and Maurice only has 3
Critchley getting in over many of the other choices was a big surprise but he romped it. Risman should be in there. As you say must be a generational thing. It’s the problem with democracy - the best known beats the most talented 😊 I was surprised Hadley and Young didn’t make the cut either. And there are plenty of others not there - Scott Gibbs, Paul Moraliarty, John Devereux
Not sure all of those were nominated but I remember young, Hadley and Gibbs were

We’ve got 12 off contract according to Watson in League Express. Does anyone know who they all are? From memory and the list on Zero Tackle I’ve got: Evalds (Cas) Dudson (Cats) Lussick Sarge Chamberlain Greenwood Inu Johnson McCarthy Welham Loan: Ikahihifo Roberts Any others? I think Brown is on a one year deal? But then I didn’t think Sarginson was so I may not be much of a source of info
