With just home fans we could easily have our usual crowd at the AJ Bell and maintain social distancing 😉

Looked like a double movement to me too Russ. Got the sound down while I’m working so didn’t hear any of the chat around it.
Warriors started really well but Melbourne just kept breaking them from deep and took their chances really well. Warriors defence was poor. Not convinced sacking Kearney was a good plan

Livett would be a good signing. Would be a good replacement for Welham. And not just cos they’re both ginger!

I see James Bentley has signed a new deal with Saints. Always thought he would and that rumours of him becoming available was a negotiating tactic from his agent. No way there were going to let him leave

Sounds encouraging about Elliott. I must have seen him play. If he’s a regular for manly you’d think he’d go well over here

Brendan Elliot is another player we're linked with. 26 yr old Aussie always been like a Ratchford a victim of his own versatility. I don’t know him. I’d seen he was being offered to SL clubs. His career history looked a bit worrying. Bit of a star at u20s, Started well at the Roosters, then released, year or two with the Knights then released, to the Titans.... generally downward trajectory. But sounds like he did ok at manly last year and they had a pretty good year. Not sure if he’s played much this year

That could give us a back line of:
Escare Williams/Sio Costello Sarginson Burgess
We’ve had worse!

Burgess would be an excellent signing. Not much detail in the article though so I wonder how much substance there is in it. Gary Carter usually is pretty accurate with his salford rumours. Probably the only thing in that paper I trust!

I’m not so sure about that JJR. It hasn’t happened with Association football. They pay big money for European stars at the end of their career but don’t get anyone at the top of their game. Admittedly the wages in round ball are so high that they would take some incentive to play in a lower standard and that isn’t the case with any rugby comp of either code. But China pay even more and no one wants to play there

*spolier alert*
Roosters v Eels was an incredible game. I love the way the Eels play and they would have beaten any other team in that 2nd half spell of brilliance. But roosters are relentless and deserved the win

Rugby league is terrible at retaining its own talent. I know there aren’t many full time coaching jobs and that Radford was a mixed bag of success but he transformed hull into a genuinely competitive team. There’s no doubt they under-performed in last couple of years but he delivered some silverware. Amazing that he couldn’t land another job in RL

Broncos were the best I’ve seen them since restart. But their goal line defence was awful and they panicked too much in attack. They’ve got a long way to go to be competitive again

Eels - Panthers was a cracking game. Could have gone either way and I thought it was heading to golden point as the panthers piled on the pressure at the end too Russ
A cracking result for the warriors who, as others have noted, have had it toughest to get the season restarted

The RFL are considering rule changes including getting rid of scrums to reduce contact and therefore likely chance of transmission. I can see the logic in it as a temporary measure but I wonder what it will mean for the long term future of scrums. If they are stopped it is hard to see anyone arguing it would be beneficial to return to barely bound scrums with feeding the ball into the 2nd row I still have mixed views on the ‘6 again’ for holding rule www.rugby-league.com/article/56839/rfl-laws-committee-recommendations
