I'm not actually anti Koucash but this is one of my biggest bug bares with him, he fed us so many false ideas that it becomes hard to remember them all, but. Own the stadium, Water park, Hotel, Academy facilities on site, All that if they had come to fruition would have take us from star gazers to a lofty on cloud position. You know that Sale wanted to buy the stadium well they got the KB. It is not being left at that they have the same problems we have no revenue for food or drink or parking they also see we are getting rent holidays they are not happy. If they don't get the stadium they are prepared to move and have land in mind. Will see what happens. Have long maintained that Salford and Sale should have gone into a joint venture to buy a 50/50 share of the stadium, each club retains profits from it's own games but shares all revenue streams. Think the difference between us and Sale is that we have a longer tenure agreement which unless we went into administration and restarted as a different entity we are tied to this agreement and let's be honest there is not many alternatives or a playing venue, we would possibly end up doing what the Doc wanted and moving out of the city.

Getting back to the theme good or bad, for me it is a good start Salford council want more transparency with the accounts, especially if they are defer payments again for another 3 years. Salford Council will always have Salford at heart, so I trust they are in it for the right reasons. Obviously they want a return on there investment & also want the city of Salford to have a professional sports team. I hope the councils decision will allow a period of stability, at least the council will be transparent unlike MK who I personally do not trust.

It's a positive for Salford R.L.F.C. and a negative for the taxpayers of Salford. It's not news that we're not in the best financial health. The Council don't really have a choice but to extend these agreements because if they try and call them in Salford will go bust and they'll be lucky to get pennies on the pound back.

Yes they will have Salford at heart but their is an undeniable fact their is another tennant who at this time have more clout than us.And the council and peel need them at Barton. If Sale do decide to up sticks it will become very interesting to see what will will happen.

Simple, if Sale say they are moving I bet they are given a purchase option, we could have done the same but for the length of tenancy agreement. I secretly think the council and Peel hope that Salford football ends up there too and that would instantly give them much a huge revenue boost.

Salford City football team. will never go there not as long as they invest in there own ground . Once it get's above 10, 000 and all covered i can see a swap being done with Salford RLFC. unless our crowds increase in size etc. But that will be at least 3- 5 yrs away before Salford City will be updating to another ground.

I agree totally with your post, if I was not a supporter I would be spitting feather with all the cuts going on around them, unfortunately they are dammed if they do & dammed if they don't.

Problem with this is that it's just as much of a trek to the football ground as it is Barton. The harsh reality is Salford is that much in need of new housing any prime sites in the urban centres command such a premium they become unaffordable for construction such as sports facilities.

Occasionally I wonder what would happen if the council took over the club, the city council running it's main professional sports club makes sense, utilise existing council employees for the expertise the club is sadly lacking, a massive vehicle for advertising and an entity owning the club who has the club and cities welfare at heart not chancers looking for further their ego and profile.

From what I am hearing.Sale will go if they don't get the ground.Or at least the revenue they make on food and drink.

Does anyone think getting the extension to the payments has been holding up the announcement of the board of trustees?

Does anyone think getting the extension to the payments has been holding up the announcement of the board of trustees? In my humble opinion,it's nothing to do with it.It could be more to with the RFL.
