MK has stated that Watson wants more players in the squad ( although strange at the moment) and the way to do this is to have more players on lower wages. So there is a choice. 1 Ben or 3/4 other players. Ben's been generally fantastic, sometimes a bit patchy, but he is a big guy with dodgy strapped up knees. Might just make good economic sense. Alternatively we may have little money anyway and therefore it's a necessity. Sadly we just never have the numbers through the turnstiles and so don't generate enough. I think MK went a year too early though as we were on the way forward, at last and another year could have seen the breakthrough. The great Alec Murphy always said if you pay peanuts all you get is monkeys. I give you- Chris Hill, Kris Brinning, Mahe Fonua, Sam Moa, Luke Gale.. need I continue? |

And Also Chang if you look at the Leigh team Murph led to Wembley, they weren't superstars on big money but they were led with fire and determination. Probably one of the greatest underpaid RL teams of all time.

Ben almost certainly didn't want to leave as he had just signed a long term deal to stay at Salford no one else and his family settled at the club.
Makes you wonder aswell will his heart be in another club?
I wish him well and I'm sure he'll get a standing ovation when he comes back and rips us a new one.
With regards to paying peanuts again, when you've just lost your backer and are only averaging 2k through the door peanuts is all you've got.

Redwolf, it's all about money and the Club hasn't got enough. But Cas sold Ranging and the England hooker when they were down in money and look where they are now.

Hadn't Wilky tried for years to Fred involved? His response was he wasn't interested in RL. He did how ever then go onto to sponsor the shed for a couple of seasons and is now the main sponsor of SL, so his attitude may have changed....... |

I'd happily pay £50 per season more if it meant it was exclusively for team investment, I'd look at it was investing in my own weekly entertainment. Let's face it we have a hard core who buy year in year out and would more than likely look at it the same way, that or have the option of paying more each month or up front. |
