Brian Carney said right at the end that there were loads of rumours flying around that the Doc was leaving/selling up?  Anyone heard this? Yep, heard a couple lf interesting things last night and this was one. Just getting fed up of it all. What I heard was it would be announced today, so fingers crossed if something is happening it doesn't roll on all winter. Would fit in with the time line I heard for something being announced soon after the last game. Maybe this is why there has been no announcement of signings yet, hard for one entity to buy a player knowing that another entity is going to be holding the purse strings. I wouldn't have an issue with Orange being in charge, if you take peoples dislike of RU out of it have any of us seen any negative press from Orange since he bought Sale and like it or loathe it he has certainly brought in the players the coach wanted ALA Solomona. |

Yeah he’s gone. With the announcement of the badge etc i reckon he wanted to assure the fans that we have a future without him. Someone at the game mentioned the new kit sponsor as an Italian rugby union kit maker so i can only again assume there’s been a Sale takeover. He signalled his intention to sell the club to the consortium even before that consortium was formed when he brought Under Armour in. Under Armour make kits for the Welsh RU. A bigger clue that he's going is that his initials - MK - are exactly the same as those of Michael Knighton, the man who, in the late 1980s, agreed a deal to buy the Ladyboys of Old Trafford, but didn't stick around. |

That might fit in with what I heard about Errea they're Italian but not specifically RU. |

Strangely Wasps RU play at the Ricoh Coventry; assume it was a takeover by a RU club.
Amazingly we have one plays at our stadium intended initially for us, which they are trying to buy; Coincidence?

Much as I am no longer the Docs biggest fan there needs to be a position for the club and I'd love to see him involved with the RFL, can you think of anyone who would shake things up in the back ground at the most poorly and incestuously run establishment going? |

All I've read is what the Doc said and all that should have been good news and quieted everyone down a bit. But no same old, same old on the miserable have a go at MK front like a stuck record!
As for having no worries about an ru club running SRD well that's been a wonderful success in all the other cases where it's happened!

Agreed, it has become tiresome and boring now, I don't think it's in the fabric of most Salford fans to accept positive news when it's put right infront of them. MK is frustrated with the crowd situation so he looked at all the options he had to try and increase them, which he is entitled to do as he is the man keeping us afloat. Unfortunately one of those options was the name change/relocation, which after the survey he decided was the wrong option and we are staying as Salford. Which is what the vast majority of us wanted, yes? Now we all need to get behind the club next season, we were close to having it taken away from us, so we need to make the most of it and make sure it won't happen again! |
